Should have traded Toby for a third round pick

Players of Jettas quality are hard to find especially his kicking skill level which is elite combine that with his speed he'll be hard to replaceComment

True, if he becomes really consistent, which he never really was with us, he will be a champion and Bruce will have a new Cyril to fawn over! So while I wish him the best in life, I hope he doesn't. As long as he plays s--t against us!

Think that is doing Jetta a bit of a disservice. He is a gun 100m player who breaks lines and passes with pinpoint accuracy. Yes, he has a few limitations, some in his head, but if the trade were reversed, I would be stoked. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

This year is our time for points, if Dunks is coming, not players. We have to trade for points and keep sliding down the order. Lions and GWS are the same but GWS has plenty of options. Ask GCS or Adelaide, and maybe Carlton.
We might have to see all players and picks before we trade points, early picks, for later points but multiples picks.Comment

I don't think its a great trade, but its a trade we had to make - at least we got something for Lewis.
Thanks for your service Lewis - we will miss you next year, particularly your pace and kicking, which are two qualities that have been a bit thin on the ground for us recently.Comment

I admit it's hard to feel enthusiastic about the trade because it officially puts and end to Jetta's time at the Swans. But I guess that has come to an end due to his desire to move back to WA, and was going to happen regardless of this trade. So we have salvaged something out it, filling a need with, at worst, a workmanlike performer. Maybe he'll turn out to be much better than that. I remember being pretty nonplussed when a certain JPK was chased by the club, and we know how that's worked out. I had similar feelings re McGlynn and Shaw and, while their contributions haven't been as spectacular as Joey's, they've still significantly exceeded the expectations I had of them when they arrived.I don't think its a great trade, but its a trade we had to make - at least we got something for Lewis.

If Jetta can add consistency to his game, he'll be a big gain for the Wiggles. They lack a player of his kind, and he does two or three things a game that put a big smile on your face. Reality is, though, that is usually is just two or three things a game, and in some games none. He hasn't consistently stood up for us when we most needed him, and his B&F finish this year was pretty ordinary for a player who didn't miss a game. That said, it's hard not to feel a little fondness towards him and, for his sake, I hope he puts together a few years of high level, consistent football out west (but not against us).Comment
