to close to the action......not close enough or BOTH ?

Sometimes when you follow a team you tend to get that tunnel vision

    Examples being:

    1. when we look at our list and say we have great depth or not deep in depth......well how do we really know ? I mean do we really spend the time to look at the top 30 players at every club and do we really know what their ressie players offer ?

    2.
When we watch a game and pick out things we are not happy with re our Swans........are we truly / equally watching the good and bad another team displays? and do we sit down and watch all the other games on the wknd and compare ?

    3. Do we actually realise how good some f our players are ?

    ---------

I was chatting to the neighbour the other day leading into the trade period. He is a Cats supporter and with all the forward press on the Cats and Danger ! he was up and about and excited........and I was excited he was excited as the Cats have had a few tough years. But he looked at me and said "mate do you know how good some of your players are at the Swans ?

He said Exhibit A - Luke Parker ........ how many kids do you know at his age that have dominated like he does ? his 5 goals and 31 disposals against the Cats earlier this year ? ........plse he said.....that will do me for a midfielder at his age to dominate like that ?

It made me think.........well I thought how easy it was for me to forget the magic that a player like Luke Parker brings to the oval ...... I mean my neighbour remembered the game like it was yesterday and I forgot it like it never happened

So when my neighbour thinks of Luke Parker he thinks of that game and i think yeah Luke is a tough young midfielder but my neighbour thinks and saids to me.......Luke he is one of if not the best 22 yr old midfielders in the comp and you bloody swans got him at pick 30 !!!!

The List Managers always seem to do best with the lower numbers......like Goodsey and Smooch as well as heaps of others as we haven't had much of a go further up the list, and then we recycle players that aren't utilised or perhaps wanted, like Joey, Shaw, Ted, Laidlaw, even Morton. Its not just about the first cabs off the rank, its what the cabs in the rank can do as a team.

We've made a few errors, but which of the clubs haven't. But honestly, when a club like ours can still give a kid like AJ all the chances there are to offer, it means they either know something we don't or they are far more patient and far sighted than a lot of us. In my own area of moral defeat witness Macca..... not a hope in hell I said.....so embarrassment.

Never fear Prim....I always said McPherson would be a 200 gamer and McVeigh wouldn't make a 3rd year at Sydney.
(Oh, and that Rhyce was a huge mistake, and would finish up embarrassing the Swans).

Yep, that too......and didn't someone hand in their membership when Plugger came to the club? I have given up on being all seeing all knowing ALL the time......
But Danny could have been a 200 gamer if he wasn't ridden by Eade (and had a bit more anticipation) IMHO
