Why would you want to move JPK forward when he is still the most dominant inside mid in the comp on same level as Gaz and Danger

Sure is. I've prattled on about our lack of depth all summer but seeing that made me shudder - we need a very good run with injuries or it will get nasty quickly.

Really need another two or three youngsters to exceed expectations and play outstanding NEAFL.

Our depth is in the 5 regulars not playing. Mills, Heeney, Lloyd, Cunningham, Jones, Papley are the new generation of Swans. These are the players that will be carrying the us into the future. Get used to it. It's not bad at all.

Really pleased that we went with Hewett and Papley. They played well in the preseason and deserved to be picked.
Not that surprising to me. Robinson is versatile and can play midfield or forward or even back whereas Rose is a forward only. Given Papley is also a specialist forward it's not that surprising Rose misses out

I think he will spend more time up forward, but will still dominate the Swans midfield.

The Swans will need to get significant midfield time to Mills, Heeney and Hewitt even if it means we are weaker in the midfield at certain times.

These guys are the future and must be nurtured.
JPK 188 Barry Hall 194 Ted Richards 193. Of the forwards named Buddy Tippo around or over 195cm Towers 189 and add Sinclair 2m? Parker rotating from midfield and forward will do more damage on the scoreboard and is a better mark and kick at goal. Kennedy hasn't kicked that well at goal since 2012 anyway he still has a couple of years until he's moved into the f line on a permanent basis like Jude was at the end of his career

Robinson's got photos. Was fair dinkum poor in the pre season games. Can't see him holding his place. Doesn't go where the ball's at much and goes to ground way too much.

Looked to be in very poor form in senior company.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

The most starkly missing name to me is BJ. While I remain unconvinced, I would have thought he's ahead of Hiscox and probably Robinson too. It's surprising not to see him even as an emergency. There was even a fluff piece about him yesterday.

Has he injured himself on the eve of the season?

The NEAFL article says BJ is playing NEAFL alongside Ted and McGlynn,
Rose and Nankervis. I'm guessing Hiscox is the non playing emergency

Certainly hasn't earned that spot through form. Has been poor in both the practice games.

I thought BJ was everything you would want for a young, developing, speedy HFF in the pre-season and agree with you that it's a bit of an oddity he's not in there.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm excited by these inclusions. Hewett finally gets his chance. Papley has grunt and should provide some forward pressure.

So, I am told the Pies have an unusual game plan which involves all 18 kneeling down and snorting the 50m arc into oblivion to throw our goal kicking range out.
