I've been impressed with Carlton. I don't think this will be as easy as some think.

I agree. It would be very dangerous to take them for granted. But their forward line is probably their weakest area on field and that's why I'm thinking that we give another young guy a go. Maybe aliir actually. The Bulldogs have shown the value of having all running defenders. Aliir can run and he can also pinch hit in the ruck in the defensive 50. Between towers and aliir as third men up we would look much different to previous years.Comment

On another point it will be interesting to watch weitering and mills playing very similar roles for opposing teams. Being number 1 and number 3 draft picks. Yes it is weiterings natural position versus more a development position for mills in order to ease him into the midfield. One to watch....Comment

I'd love to see Aliir debut. I was a bit surprised considering our KPD situation that he wasn't given any pre-season game time. I understand that he's 'developing' but when is the right time for that next step, particularly if two of Talia, AA and X Richards are being seen as the logical replacements for Ted and Reg in coming seasons? It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Was Teddy playing on Jonathan Patton on the weekend and have 5 goals kick on him or was another defender on Patton?
I don't think Teddy needs to come back this week given carlton only has one key forward who can't kick at goal and if Everett goes forward then Rampe can play on him he's played on Jack Riewoldt and Josh Kennedy beforeComment

Sorry about that. REG IS THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE. More thinking about if Ted is not fit, who else![emoji15]Comment

I went to the NAB match against Carlton and was impressed with their ball movement. It was only three or four clangers by them that we scored from that gave us the comfortable win.
They should have beaten Wretchmond last week so I think this will be a lot closer than some are believing. Should not be in the danger game category (early call and not mine to make but that's next week against GWS) but if we win by 4-5 goals I think we can be satisfied. There could be a slight let down by new players who went so well last week but I hope they all go really well again and give the selectors a headache next week.
General Ted coming back is sensible, lets him work into form and gel again with the back 6 before tougher matches begin. Be interesting to see if Robbo is given another run or whether the NEAFL impressive Rose gets another try before his bunny team GWS :-)Comment

Nankervis didn't play NEAFL last week so I imagine it's just a rotation issue with Derickx taking on emergency duties this weekComment

[QUOTE=Ludwig;691675]I know that I didn't post it, but in my mind I picked Tom Derickx to be the traveling emergency ruckman. This is his main role in the side this year.
