Rnd 6 Match Day Thread. Brisbane Lions V Sydney Swans. 1.10pm at The Gabba
The commentary has been favourable for Aliir but I feel he has simply done ok without distinguishing himself, which is fine, by the way, for a first gamer playing a defensive role.

Ludwig, perhaps you will be less complacent about playing relatively lowly ranked opposition in future. The coaches are always saying you only need to be slightly off and any team can beat you.

How warm is it there? The players look red and sweaty.

Too close for comfort. But great experience for our young players.

Of course people on social media are mentioning bad sportsmanship for calling for the stretcher and then him running off. To be fair the Swans probably called for it before it had entered the Lions 50 and then it came to the umpires attention.
It was our senior players that got us over the line today. Hope there is a sense of urgency and concern not complacency among players and coaches after that. Would not be good to repeat the dose next week against the Dons. But I think we'll do better at home.
