Agree Barry and that is exactly what they did. I saw Sammy play last week and he is at least a week away. If he is able to kick between 5-10 off 20 this week he gets a gig next week. But 1 from 12. No way Jose. i think the coaches saw it that way too. It is premature to bring him in yet. he might need 2-3 games to get match fitness back. he's a big guy playing a KPP role not a small mid. He isn't going to be in the play all the time so will take a couple of weeks at least to settle into a rhythm.Comment

i think as supporters we probably find it a challenge on his best to use a Sam Reid based on past years and secondly there are a few players now who have jumped ahead and have their hand waving high in the air each week for selection
Obviously the coaches have always loved Sammy playing and with Bud playing out on the flank / wing so often Sammy does take another key defender with him which leaves Bud with the second or third best defender
I think I probably underestimate how important that factor is alone i.e. free up the Buddy Love and everyone goes home happy

Sam is a no-brainer to slot back in somewhere when he is right, but his marking was as rusty as an old gate last week and given that is his strength, a few more weeks in the 2's won't do him any harm.
I'm wondering with these cyclonic weather predictions whether the 2's may get postponed or moved this weekend. If it was in Sydney it would be moved for sure, someone only needs to take a leak on the SCG and they call it off....Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I don't think there's any suggestion the senior game won't go ahead. Unless there is storm activity (ie lightning or maybe snow - unlikely on the GC) I can't see it being called off. The references to a game being moved or postponed were to the NEAFL game. If they do this it will be to preserve the state of the ground for the senior game.Comment

The last time a VFL game was called off was in 1963. The whole Round 11 was postponed for a week from July 13th to July 20th because of extremely heavy rain. No matter what you hear in Sydney, Melbourne doesn't get weather like that any more.Comment

Trent McKenzie - goldcoastfc.com.au
i was hoping Trent was playing as I haven't watched him for a while
I have thought in the past he would be a lethal rebound kick for us in the backs ON THE SCG !
191cm and the Hawks in years gone past have dominated with such great kickers out of the backline
McKenzie to Buddy GOAL !!!! lol
