Did you see Heath Shaw's tweet/Instagram (not sure which) where Alex woke up to find himself in the same room as Heath Shaw? Priceless.

I've been laughing my head off all night.
Heath is HILARIOUS and one of the nicest blokes I've ever met. He did concede that Rhyce was the faster runner (that night).
Rhyce often bought him to fancy functions as his plus-one.
They'll do each other the world of good.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Surely AJ won't make it back next year?
My thought is, assuming AJ wants to play on, we de-list him, keep him around the club (or Academy) in some capacity, track how his rehab goes over the next 12 months and then potentially re-rookie him next year. If he's ready to play sooner, perhaps he could play NEAFL as a toppie? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Matt's mini-bump of this thread has reminded me that I was going to post a link to an article in The Age last weekend about Julian Fellows, the surgeon that practically has a monopoly on performing AFL knee operations nowadays.
It's not specifically about Johnson, though he does get a mention. It gives a bit (but not much) of an insight into the mystery of why ACL injuries happen, and compares re-injury rates and rehabilitation times to other sports.
Here's the link.

Haha. That's hilarious. Fitzy must have organised all those jokes. The Front Bar is 10x better than The Footy Show.Comment

I found this paragraph interesting in respect to recruiting players:Matt's mini-bump of this thread has reminded me that I was going to post a link to an article in The Age last weekend about Julian Fellows, the surgeon that practically has a monopoly on performing AFL knee operations nowadays.

I wonder if it will have an impact on the King brothers getting drafted early. Max had the injury, but being genetically identical, Ben may have the same future ACL risk factor.“If you are under 20 when you have your first reconstruction, your risk [of another] goes up. If you are under 18 it really goes up that you will have another injury to the same knee, or the other knee,” Feller said.
Given the content of the article, I suspect AJ had a quad graft, and perhaps he can return sometime late next season. Maybe this bodes better for Naismith than originally expected. I was really surprised how much better the return rates were for other sports, expecially NFL.Comment
