2nd quarter starts like the 1st with a dawson goal - this time a nice pickup off the ground, good acceleration to beat a couple then a nice snap from around 35 out, with a nice helpful bounce to take it over a helpless demons defender.

Followed by a nice switch of play from o Riordan then a silly 50m penalty given away to give Robertson #57 a goal on debut.

Then a first for xavier richards after what looked a blatant hands in the back jna marking contest.

Followed by a goal to foote after a nice centre clearance, some scrappy play in the f50, nice mark by cunningham almost over his shoulder then kick back to unmarked foote who converted from 30 out.

Laidler with a nice running goal after some good 1 on 1 defending from leonardis and then some nice interplay handballs through the middle including dawson before laidler kicked truly from 40 out dead in front.

      12.9.81 to 1.1.7 13 minutes 2nd quarter.

Bit scrappy last 5 minutes but highlights been a good tall grab in a pack from.o riordan on the wing and superb 1 on 1 defending from melican in the goal square followed up by a superb smother from the following kick for goal to stop a certain goal. Swans 83 demons 9 21 minutes 2nd quarter.

Goal to Benny mcglynn after free about 40 out - missed what the free was for.

Demons win a rare clearance and deliver well into their 50 but no 20 wastes the chance and kicks a behind.

        89 to 10 24th minute.

Foote with an easy mark and goal after mcglynn took a nice contested intercept mark in front of the interchange bench and played on quickly and hit foote on the lead.

Demons hit the post after a mark near the fifty.

Half time swans 14-11-95 demons 1-5-11. By my count dawson has 3, foote and murray 2 and singles to cunningham, laidler, mcglynn, newman, richards, wilson and robertson.

All too easy really, but some good play from a number of the guys so far. Newman playing nicely and o'riordan has done some good stuff, harry and mcglynn getting plenty of it and i do like what foote has done doing some good hard yards in the middle.

Very scrappy third quarter so far - cunningham has been prominent but both he and xavier richards have missed shots for goal. 104 to 12 13th minute.

Murray hits the post after good work fromi hiscox to intercept on the wing and deliver onto his chest. 105-- 12 15th minute.

Mcglynn with his 2nd on the run after some nice quick hands in close to clear the congestion.

Lovely mark by nankervis under pressure off a floating kick into the forward 50. Went back and just snuck his kick inside right hand goal post. Swans 117 demons 12 20th minute.

Leonardis gets too adevnturous taking on guys coming out of the defensive 50 - pinged for htb 30 out. Demons finally kick their 2nd. Demons scrub another from the the ensuing centre clearance, a desperate cunningham cant quite get there. Swans 117 demons 24 23rd minute.

Goal to reinhard #55 after he applied good presure on the 50 to intercept then worked hard to get on the end of a chain of handballs - impressive stuff.

A much more even quarter demons vastly improved. Swans 18.17.125 to demons 3.7.25 at 3/4 time.

Nankervis starts q4 up front and takes a nice mark on hia chest 40 out after some nice work in the lead up by o'riordan. Makes no mistake to get his 2nd. Swans 131 demons 25 4th minute last term.

Lovely weaving run from wilson in heavy traffic on the wing beating 3 or 4 before delivering forward - he has done some nice stuff.

Leonardis defending well in tandem with newman at the other end.

Wilson and Foote both miss good set shot chances. Bj kicks poorly to waste a chance for galloway i think to be 1 on 1 with his defender.

After a huge barrell torpedo out of defence, demons transfer ball well and kick goal on the run.

Demons get another despite a great smother from newman aftet poor marking in the d50.

                            Swans 140 demons 43 19th minute.

Nice 1 handed grab under pressure from dawson but sprays kick across goal. Swans overusing the ball a fair bit in a scrappy last quarter from our perspective.

And thats all she wrote. Scrappy last half dozen minutes with final score swans 140 demons 43. Second half a bit disappointing to be honest, didnt really go on with it and demons fought hard.
