    FFS.
When people are arrogant and condescending to me... expect that I'll go down to their level and respond in like.
To me, a "genuine fan" is someone is supports the club. This person, obviously, isn't a "genuine fan". NARF, I think we used to call it.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Must be late season. We look like a chance. It may explain the tension and anxiety on this thread.

I'd say being a fan since 1956 adequetely qualifies for being a "genuine fan"
Lets support the team rather than offend each other
        We're ALL GENUINE FANS !!

I must confess I supported Essendon for a whole fortnight when I was 10
I feel like my genuineness has been compromised ever since

Some fans are better fans than others.
The way I follow the Swans now, would put me at around 50% fan. (no membership, rarely make it to games)
Being a member of the biggest unofficial Swans sit lifts me to around 65% fan.
Being a South Melbourne supporter has to add another 10% - 75%
Seeing the first GF as a member at the time brings in maybe 5%.
            So I'm 80% fan.
            And I'm OK with that

I think it's time to call in Champion Data and solve this "genuine/fake" Swans fan dilemma once and for all.
Originally I thought the ABS might be the right organisation for the job, but they are 0-and-1 this week, and
you're only as good as your last game. Champion Data's new supporter rating software system could ask a series of questions
like how long you?ve been a Swans member, how many GWS games you have attended, what length you would go
to be the 5000th post on the Tippett thread on RWO, and are your clothing purchase choices
based on whether Tom Derickx has modelled them or not, and come up with a genuine fan rating number out of ten
based on your answers. For a small fee the company could send out a certificate with your rating for framing purposes, or
a version to keep on your phone, handy to add as an attachment to any future social media posts.

                      Ludwig

2 things about your post that are factually incorrect.

                      1. You have spelled the word arse incorrectly. The world now insists on using the US cringe spelling of ass. We do not have a donkey as an attachment to the posterior of our frames. At least you could have embraced correct English when you stopped over in Oz for 20 years. And while I am at it, what is this word...poop. When I refer to poop I am using the term describing the poop deck on a boat, which is not the crapper. The toilet seat was invented by an American called Crapper, so why don't they use the term crap.
                      2. The photo of Sam Reid and his dog is an old photo. Sam surely has more wrinkles by now.

I may have used the word Donkey instead of Ass. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the yanks managed to Inbreed/cross breed Donkeys and called them an Ass. So Donkeys as we know them, don't exist there.

                      Cheers

Come and join the egalitarian giants. No one has been a fan longer than 5 years and no fans have been to a grand final.

The downside of a GWS membership is you don't get a 10 year membership medal pinned on the chest for another 5 years.

Also it takes a long time to become recognised as a real and genuine fan on a fan website.

My aim in life is to have 10,000 posts on RWO. So I eat healthy and do Bikram Yoga 4 times a week. Unfortunately visiting Ludwig 2 times this year has taken years off my life.

I think there have only been five GWS home games against us so far, so you might be deducted 0.3 points, but with rounding you'll stay
at 8. So well done mate. Because this is a new service the company are promoting, they have a special introductory offer where the first fifty Genuine Swans Fan Certificates are free. Yours will be the mail early next week. I didn't do quite as well as you. Even though I've been a member for longer, I lost a few points for going to too many GWS games that didn't involve the Swans, and the company found out I'd been too negative about Jason Saddington when he played for us, and that I've got my collection of signed Swans team jumpers all mixed up and I don't know which year is which anymore. It's pretty embarrassing.
