Looking at the other results of this round I wish we went a bit harder in the 4th qtr.. Percentage is going to be a big decider this year. It has been a nice stress free couple of weeks which was nice for a change. We need some more resistance in the lead up to the finals and hopefully we get it and win with no injuries !

After the Weagles Kennedy effort today, I hope our mids pass better to Buddy over the last few rounds. I know it's a team game, but I sooo want Buddy to nab a ColemanComment

Yesterday was blue skies and sunshine. I walked around the Port Adelaide markets and harbourside taking it all in. The mood among people was sullen, crestfallen and depressed. No-one wore their home knitted Port beanies, socks or scarves. God almighty it was a beautiful day."Play like you can’t lose."Comment

Fantastic win.
Thanks Gold Coast. Thanks Melbourne.
Pity we took the brakes off in the last quarter.
Percentage is STILL very important... even if the coaching staff don't think so.
MMM did an interview with Stewey Dew - and that's what he basically said.
Pfft Stewey Dew - both you AND I know that percentage is all important.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Stewey meant that percentage wasn't important to the Brisbane Lions. He's a very forward looking coach.Comment

Do you think Port still has those tarps they used to put over the empty bays of seats during the dark times at AAMI?

I've always seen their supporters as the most fickle of any team in the AFL. Their no show during that 2003 Week 1 finals home game against us at a time when they'd won pretty much every game during the H & A season, the tarpaulins at AAMI etc. Then when the team is winning again they magically reappeared on that bridge to Adelaide Oval singing INXS power ballads. Now they are all tearing up their membership cards again.

The AFL website's Brownlow medal prediction comments that betting has been suspended temporarily on Parker, pending the MRP's assessment of a "high hit" on Wingard in Saturday's game. I didn't notice anything live on the game or on the bits of the replay I've watched. Nor had I read anything about it up to then.
Has he got anything to worry about (not in the context of the Brownlow - much less important than his availability next week to take on the Stains).Comment

Parker raised the elbow after turning towards the ball
Wingard received a hit to his jaw from parker turning away
Didn't look deliberate to hit Wingard in the face but Parker did protect his turning circle with a raised elbow
Id say Parker will escape penalty"be tough, only when it gets tough"
