Fischer has been taken to hospital for a check on his jaw. So I expect the MRP will certainly have a look at the video.

The MRP has unfortunately shown a tendency to hand down penalties based on the impact on the player being hit. It was a fair bump but if Fisher has indeed broken a jaw then I think Nankervis could be in trouble. He was probably going to be dropped for Tippett anyway (despite another good game) so not too much effect on our team (might hurt the NEAFL team though)Comment

Knock it back over the pack where it came from - they had numbers on that side. Can dissect those decisions (as we'd be more likely to do if it went against us) but thought the decisions favoured us in general.
Unrelated but Nankervis was the pick of the rucks today I thought. Potential dilemma when Tippett and Sinclair make their way back.
He ran past the ball and chose to bump, he hit him high and the injury saw the player removed from the ground with a possible broken jaw.
Personally I don't think it was intentional but that won't matter.
I'm also worried about the Parker fend which was also high, although there may be a case here of insufficient force considering the player didn't require medical attention.Comment

Parker low impact fend off during play ... 1 week?Comment

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Could not go past Lance for BOG. Hanners was best after that : Parker was excellent and we had some huge contributions across the board , but this bloke was IMO our best in the 1st half , when the game was still very tight.Comment

I thought Hanners' disposal last night was the best it's been for a while. When he concentrate's he can use the ball well enough and some of his handballing, in particular, is a delight to watch.
It was a very solid all around performance by the team. Even those whose names won't be mentioned in the match reports - like Hewett and Towers - looked very composed in traffic and were heavily involved in many of the possession chains that moved the ball forward.
I also thought McVeigh was excellent, especially early when there was still some heat in the game.Comment

Superb second half. We played petty well in the first half but St Kilda matched us. They left it in the sheds at half time. Appears they gave it all in the first half and had nothing in the tank after half time. Their heads dropped when we rattled on 4 quick goals. They appeared completely non plussed when we changed up our forward structure after half time. Buddy up the ground, Parker to the forward line and Heeney running forward from the wing. We forced the footy forward and appeared to flood the forward line. Looks like we have more than 1 game plan. Thought they took it out of our forward line too easily in the first half. Our pressure did go up though in the second quarter.Comment

He is a real revelation. He has given us more than a forward marking option. Has a big tank and works hard all over the forward line. No longer just Buddy and I reckon he helps bring blokes like Papley into the game.Comment
