Meth Amphetemine is a performance enhancing drug...gives you a feeling of superhuman strength and you don't respond to the "tired" signals that your muscles give out...hence you can run through pain barriers that others can't.....sound like anyone we know?"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

I thought Roosy's opinion that the pre-finals bye works against the top teams because they will play too little footy to stay sharp.

All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

I've just watch a replay of Open Mike with Mike Pyke. It was another enormous tribute to the whole Swans culture and support.
It seemed that the whole expectation at signing was that he could have a go (and they supported him with staff to develop; paid him above the going rate and helped him settle into Sydney). But it was unlikely be would make it, and over the years they recruited more ruck candidates Mumford and Seaby) as more likely cover.
Mike stated more than once that he felt he was given clear and achievable objectives so he was able to work on things that were important to the coaches and the playing group - so the Brian Taylor and media rubbish were rarely distractions or negatives to his journey.
A very impressive life story.Comment

I loved it when Mike Sheehan had to ask Pykey to slow down. He does talk very fast and, couple with his accent, Sheehan was struggling to understand him (that or being clever and realising that some of the viewers would be struggling).Today's a draft of your epitaphComment
