Has Derrickx rucked every centre bounce? Is he going to try to ironman it today? It looks a bit warm for him to hold up a whole game, kudos to him if he can.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The colour guy is Gilbert McAdam. Was it St Kilda he played for?

Beautiful day out here come on down. I'm the one with a purple shirt and incipient black eye if you want to say hi.

Looks like most of the senior boys are out there. Dew and Horse kicking the ball with Dews son?

Good first quarter from the boys - Newman impressive, and Foote getting stuck in too along with Jones.

Some interesting umpiring early in the 2nd quarter helping the giants gain some strong momentum....

A very enjoyable game so far. Really tough footy, with a real arm wrestle feel about it. We were wasteful in that second quarter going forward, but are every chance if we can improve our disposal.

Giants really had a lot of momentum in that second quarter, but wasted a number of excellent chances - despite the commentators getting more than a little excited on a number of occasions.

First time I've watched Newman, the boy can kick. Any idea why he hasn't had a call up yet?

Yes, I might be biased, but I thought that we could have got our first free, sometime before the 25 minute mark of the second quarter.

Seems we don't get half the reward for good tackles that the giants are getting - as Ugg's stats show, we are doing well to be all square at half time.
