Does anyone else think we let one through by not recruiting Josh Dunkley? I think he has had an excellent first season and has shown probably more than i thought was capable of. He seems very composed, can play short or tall and would be that handy utility type player. Is it just the Bulldogs bidded earlier than expected and we would have had to give up too much in future picks?

He's a decent player. The club get more right than wrong though and I'm not sure what the repercussions were with the points system.
Thought he had a poor one tonight until those couple of late goals.Bloods

Agree, I think there was a handshake agreement that Swans would take him if he were to be first picked by a non-Vic club, but if a Vic club (Bulldogs) we would let him go. Presumably Swans thought there was a risk if they took him before a Vic club, he would walk after two years anyway.Comment

Im thinking possibly Xavier Richards or Hewett if i had to make a call...but who knows how he would fit into our game plan. I just cant help feel some sort of connection being his Dad being such a cult hero for us in the 90's.Comment

Probably agree with Benny as the probable out but I can't agree with your assessment of our drafting. They seem to get more picks right then wrongComment

Yeah im def not complaining about our list. Its def the strongest its been for years as far as depth goes which should hop ed fully see us right in the mix for the next few yearsComment

Libba Snr was just asked whether tonight is the best Dogs' finals win and he suggested that the '97 win over Swans was comparable. I nearly threw the remote through the TV.
Will never forget how that smarmy little so and so and his mate Romero used to treat P Kelly, especially in '97.
I then recalled how Andrew Dunkley reacted to said treatment. I dare say Dunks Snr would never have believed his son could wear that jumper and line up alongside Libba's son.Comment

This is what Andrew Dunkley had to say in April:
"It was hard at first to get my head around the red, white and blue," Andrew said.
"Josh bought a Bulldogs cap home for me and I tried it on, but I haven?t worn it, yet."
