Wow ... didn't expect this ... no doubt the best successive weeks of beautiful football from the Swans I have seen in 65 years of support.Leave a comment:

This is true but so are a lot of rohans kicks - sometimes it's more about what you are kicking to - our smalls seemed able to find space and mark the helicopter kicks but Dangerfield kicked to a contest where our defenders out pointed their opponent.Leave a comment:

I have been pondering who I want to win tonight: GWS will be tough to beat next week, but I've more chance to get a ticket and we'd have all of Melbourne on our side. Doggies slightly less difficult opponent but we would be murderers for killing their dream. Do I secretly hope Mummy goes berserk tonight and gets rubbed out for the GF?Leave a comment:

I'm still trying to believe that we have actually made it to the GF. What an amazing effort - again - with Aliir gone early on in the game too. The senior players deserve a medal right now! They have achieved what Dangerfield and Selwood could not do and that is provide that framework for the inexperienced to fit into. The players all want Macca to play - he may be slow and unable to take the game on now but it seems that he has been key to the integration of so many young players into the team so successfully. That said, they managed without him last night.
I am barracking for the Bulldogs to win today, for several reasons but if they do and we were to play them in the GF and win, it would be akin to shooting bambi in the eyes of Melbourne football public who have already jumped on their bandwagon.Leave a comment:

Selwood was 100% class after the game in his interview. Great player that shouldn't need to play for frees.Leave a comment:

Fantastic win by the boys, I still couldn't relax until about 5 minutes to go. I thought that was probably Sammy Naismiths best game yet and young Papley was superb. Jones really makes a difference too.Leave a comment:

Neither. It's simple, Selwood stages for frees. Whether it's dropping his knees, lowering his upper body, ducking into it and/or throwing his arms up when tackled to make the tackle go high. He also likes to do a bit of diving some days as well. The guy has 300+ high free kicks alone. Great player, but this is one distasteful and unsportsmanlike aspect of his game.On Fox, there was a statistic quoted - Selwood racked up his 600th career free kick (or was it 800!)
Last night Selwood and Dangerfield received 9 free kicks for and only one against.
Kennedy and Parker combined were 0 for and 6 against. They must very nasty cheating players or very clumsy in comparison
(or maybe they just don't play for a Melbourne based, media favoured team)Leave a comment:

Surely we need to find a couple of hundred grand more to match Mitches current pay and keep himLeave a comment:

That's so true. At one point during the pregame or game they put the total experience of games played on the screen. Wasn't talked about much but it was in the order of 2900 for Geelong and 2200 for Sydney. Finally showing what we all thought he had, a great game and a welcome addition to our best 22, just that he should be on a wing, but then again so should Heeney and Mills!
Geelong supporters are feeling down after that result. Dangerwood were immense last night but they were smashed on the scoreboard. Despite massive recruiting and selling the farm last trade period, a dream draw playing Brisbane and Essendon twice and getting the rest between finals games, they have fallen short with an ageing list and question marks over many of their mid tier players.
This puts into perspective, regardless of next weeks result, what a watershed year this has been for us. So many young players proving themselves to be quality and relatively, a young list profile. A win next week would be fabulous in the context of list management. Just don't let Mitchell walk!Leave a comment:
