Grand Final receptions Sunday Oct 2

I received an email from the swans about the events for the week. I thought some might be interested in the details for the Melbourne and Sydney receptions held on Sunday Oct 2.

NOTE that the events will only go ahead if the Swans win the grand final.

    Melbourne Reception
    MCG
    Gate 6
    9am to 11am (team arrives approx 9:30)

    Sydney Reception
    SCG
    Gate A
    12:30pm to 3:30pm

Wait, so if they lose, there's no gathering at Lake Oval like previous years even if they don't win? - hoping big time they don't lose!!!

The website says it's only if they win. It's strange that it's at the MCG and not Lake Oval.

Yes I'm sure they will...the 2 events are for the next day, the Sunday.

maybe the AFL Live activity outside MCG has forced the winning team to appear there on the Sunday

Its also the MCG open day on Sunday as well after the reception (Should we win). Might be we tried to tie it in with that perhaps - but odd not to do it at lakeside oval.

I heard the owners/leasees of Lake Oval have been reluctant to let the Swans use the ground after earlier GFs. Maybe this year they said "no". Particularly knowing we'd need it to celebrate in 2017, 18, 19 and 20, too.

                  Absolutely they are there.
You get a lot of legends there as well.
It's a great night regardless... a FABULOUS one when we win.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
