We certainly didn't get a good run but I'd put the loss down to a lack of contributors. We probably had a dozen good players. We needed a few more and the 'Dogs were just a fraction better on the day.

I thought we'd win when George goaled. Absolutely shattered.

when he kicked that and we were only a point behind i stated that if we get in front on the scoreboard (i.e kicked the netx goal we will win it), but we could never back in the lead.. thats one thing we stuggle with is once behind we dont seem to be able to get back on top this year.could be the yng ones i dunno..

Poll closed. Disappointing that that only 250 people "signed" it and that it closed so quickly.

Last time I checked it was last night, it had over 450 signatures then.

The original maker of the poll was probably copping it from all his friends calling him a 'sore loser' etc.

Honestly disappointed the club and supporters are being so quiet about it.

I would have been in full support if the swans walked off the field in protest before post-match presentations started. Wouldn't care how many people called us unclassy, bitter, etc. I would have been applauding loudly. Really weak by the club. Very weak.

I'm glad they didn't walk off, that'd be horrible sportsmanship. I do hope the club ask for a private please explain, though. They can't let something like this happen again, especially in a Grand Final.

I caught myself imagining today what it would have been like in Melbourne had the Dogs been dudded by the umpires and denied a flag. Riots at AFL headquarters, a savage media and lots of sob stories about poor Doggies fans who just want a fair go for their team, just some of the things that came to mind.

First rule that is taught to most kids is that the umpires decision is final on the sporting field. Or have we forgotten this?
To have undertaken the action you wanted to occur would have been petulant and our club would have been derided for it for decades to come. It's weak to hide or walk away it takes much more courage to face up to the result and come back stronger for it.

Don't care. We're already treated like garbage by the AFL community so what difference would it make?? At least that way it (The umpires) would have been more seriously looked at. It's just bull@@@@ that it will all fade away now like it never happened.

I hate it sometimes how 'professional' our club is. Almost seems soulless.

Who is this AFL community that you refer to ? If you think us acting like spoilt brats would have any impact on how games are umpired then I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news ... It won't !
It won't be publicly detailed but a review of some description will occur but don't hold your breath expecting any apologies.
I admire and respect how professional our management is from the top all the way down but I guess that's because I am a long time Swans supporter and really appreciate watching them playing after the home and away season so often over the last twenty years. It sure beats the twenty years prior to that.
Unfortunately having a team that you are so emotionally invested in lose a grand final in contentious circumstances is challenging, frustrating and upsetting.
These are all emotions that come from the soul so if you are feeling them, and rest assured many others are as well , then maybe our team is not as soulless as you fear.

Peter Moore always regretted throwing his runner up medal on the ground and has been chastised for his petulant action since. For a team to walk off in protest would be an embarrassingly disrespectful display that would bring shame upon the players, the club and the supporters. We are above that. Well, apparently most of us are.

Well, get a load of this. If this doesn't add insult to injury. Have you read the caption?

Relatively Unknown? Maybe relatively unknown compared to Donald Trump or Ludwig Wittgenstein. But this is Australia. What planet are these people living on?

This will really hurt Tom deeply. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired from football now, leaving our ruck division in the care of Kyle 'Zeroes' Galloway.

I note that the above picture has now been withdrawn by the Daily Mail for being too distasteful even for their readership.

While I don?t believe that the free kick count was the sole reason for the result it seemed to be a contributing factor. I?m not convinced by the conspiracy theorists, and as for claims of corruption, I think we?d want some tangible evidence of this beyond ?gut feelings.? Though I do think the umpiring was at the very least inconsistent, or poor, or both.

Interestingly, I monitored the penalty count during the NRL Grand Final. Cronulla won the penalty count over Melbourne 5-3. At three quarter time (i.e. the 60 minute mark of the game) penalties were 3-3. It wasn?t a game that was over-regulated yet those awarded were there, including the two in the final 20 minutes. It all came down to the relative skills of the players.

And in last year?s GF Hawthorn won the free kick count 14-13, and the year before in the game we never talk about the count was tied at 18. It makes you wonder.

From the first quarter I though the umpires had been caught up in the "fairy tale". I don't think it was deliberate, but I do think the influence was real, and significant.
