The 'Bell Man'

I am reading Jeff 'Joffa' Corfe's book at the moment and he mentions a Swans supporter, known as the 'Bell Man', because he used to ring a bell after every Swans goal. Does anybody know or remember him?

I also remember a chappy at the SCG who had a Swan on a stick. Someone told me that the Swan was stolen from him.

We have had some characters over the years. I remember seeing on TV one supporter running down to the fence right in the middle of the C'wood cheer squad. Then there was (I think his name was Peter (or Paul) Hadley who was shown on TV quite a bit.

I know. It is off season after all.

I used to hear a bell at the MCG in the MCC reserve on level 2 after each Swans goal.
I haven't heard it for a while now, so not sure if that person is still around, or the bell has been silenced.

The Swans on a stick guy was a bloke named Russell(?). Apparently he died a few years ago.

Peter Hatley moved to Melbourne quite a few years ago. I caught up with him a few times at the airport before/after games.
He used to be on Facebook, but I haven't seen or heard of him for a little while now.

And I dont care about Joffa Corte the new caring man, he still has a decade worth of being a @@@@ bloke before he can come good. And I dont care that he feeds homeless now that he is an old man, at his prime the guy was a despicable POS and racist to boot.

He should have made more effort to be a nice bloke when he was younger. And yes I know about his upbringing, still doesnt excuse the stuff he used to do at victoria park and the most of the 2000s. Now that he is old and approaching worm food he thinks he can change his legacy.

POS and racist? Why? I've met him several times and in situations when he doesn't need to watch his P's and Q's. He's actually a decent bloke, especially for a Collingwood supporter.

No, although the way Hawks fans behave these days, you could be forgiven for thinking it was them. I reckon this happened around 15 years ago and I was astonished that supporters of this club would have the audacity to complain about the behaviour of other supporters.

Hmmm. Wondering if my memory is failing. It wouldn't be the first time! I was confident but not positive that it was a game against Collingwood that the bell man was evicted from.

I tend to agree. I was at the Bombers game that Yorlik is referring to and I'm sure the Bell Man was around after that. He used to be at the MCG on a regular basis.
