I read that Heeney has followed Kennedy around during the pre-season, and the admiration he expressed for his captain was clear. But changing his name to mimic Kennedy's is taking things to the next level!

Grundy and Jack are the two that have been "rested/managed"? No mention of their injuries

Sounds like you're having a Foote in both camps.

Afl.com.au lists "Notable absentees: Jarrad McVeigh, Kieren Jack, Lance Franklin, Dane Rampe, Heath Grundy, Aliir Aliir". In addition to this we have the injured brigade: Rose, AJ, Laidler, Rohan, Sinclair, Towers, Dawson, Naismith, Papley.

Which leaves hardly anyone. In fact, who else is left? Answer: Hayward and Pink. So Pink is simply unlucky that he was the last player left standing when they got to the end of the huge cap of 29 players but Hayward is a comparatively startling omission. Either he has an undisclosed injury or something else even more intriguing is going on. Any ideas out there? Am I overlooking something obvious?

I hope at the next presser Adam Curley or Andrew Wu or whoever asks Horse "why isn't Hayward on the plane to Coffs?" I look forward to hearing the answer.

As I recall, in a recent interview (maybe a week and a half ago?) Longmire mentioned Hayward needed to work on conditioning when he arrived and he only recently got involved in more work (impressively).

                  Edit; here, dated 5 February.

Meanwhile, Longmire said he was only just getting a good look at the club's second pick in the NAB AFL Draft, Will Hayward, and the early signs were very positive.

"He is now into the ball work and he looks really good," Longmire said.

"We're just getting a look at him now. He's been building up his fitness to this point."

Starting on the gags early, but still very much in pre-season form.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Slightly o/t, but I had lunch last week with a life long Roos fan.
Been a fan all his life (he's over 60), and a member for the last 10 years.

He signed up as a member again this year.......

                          with the Bulldogs.

I wonder how many members the Roos will lose due to the Harvey/Petrie/Dal Santo situation.

He won't be the only bandwagon fan for the fairypuppies, I have no doubt.

I think the Harvey etc situation will have a noticeable negative impact on their members - if our club had of done something similar with say Goodes/Bolton/O'Loughlin, I would of been equally ropable about it. Poorly handle by the wooboys.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
