35 years since our Escort Cup Premiership.

Boy, does this bring back some memories. Given the drought we were in, in that era, it was quite a big deal. Escort Cup: 35 years on - February 18, 2017 - sydneyswans.com.au

Brings back fond memories of Barry Round & Tony Morwood.

Also Colin Hounsell, someone I'd forgotten.

        Great footy!

The shorts really were shorter back in the 80s. That's what the game was most famous for in Sydney back then.

What was Taubo thinking, kicking for goal without his boot?
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Always good to see vision of the great D R-J running around in red and white. A very sad day when he left to go to the Blue scummers

If he was a player on our list today he would be quickly signed to a 5 year deal.

What was the story with Taubert taking the boot off to have the final shot??

That and the dramatic men behind goals in white coats and hats. Bring 'em back.

There was some real talent in that team.

I love watching this game on DVD every now & then. Sydney's winning prize money was just enough to pay one of today's rookie's with change ($105000)

Some of our players that night:

3 Morwoods played in a premiership

                      Sam Reid's uncle John

John "Jack" Lucas - father of former Carlton player Kane

Michael Oaten - son of former South great, Max
