If we are 0-2 after two games so be it when u are down on key players

We are a resilient team and we are playing the GF winner without a stack of players

I think we can still do they same as last year And be ready for the final series smarter and better
    Hear, hear.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree. However, despite the flawed premise the conclusion may still turn out to be right - wouldn't surprise me at all. I think having lost another two best 22 players we will want to keep further changes to a minimum.

Also agree with you, AG. Will be alarming if we lost to the Pies at home the following week though. Anyway, I'm not giving up on this match. I think (I certainly bloody well hope!) that we will come out fired up this week and looking to make amends. I think the Dogs will be ready for us but if we're good enough we can beat them.

        +1.

I was ready to slash my wrists after the game, but now 1 day before playing the dogs I have calmed down and even though I think we will struggle, I believe we can really push them tomorrow night.

A few of our stars - Parker, Hanners, Tippo, Mills etc cannot have worse games again and will lift. Hopefully with Alir back and Towers out we will have a bit more run and desperation.

Looking at the pictures in the 'Gallery: Round 2' on the Swans website made me feel optimistic: Gallery: Round 2, here we go! - sydneyswans.com.au. Many of our injured players look not too far off returning: Heeney, Paps, AA, Macca. It is conceivable that by mid-season we could actually have our entire best 22 on the park. If that happens (a) we're a much stronger team; and (b) we've learned a lot more about our depth and fringe players and also gotten some games into some of them. This would be a great outcome provided we can still make top 4. It's a good day to be looking for silver linings in Sydney because there isn't a lot of sunshine.

On the topic of weather, we should be glad to be playing at Etihad this week. They can close the roof if need be and, from the pocket profiles on the Swans 'site, this seems to be the popular preference among our players who apparently don't like playing wet weather football. Our record at Etihad is excellent and we are unbeaten there for some time.

Gee, I thought I knew enough about the Swans players to be able to work out any obscure nickname but that one took me a while, even with three clues (partly because I didn't realise posts two and three were even clues). I was running through Melican, Newman, Hayward, even COR in my head but couldn't work out any X-Files connection.

I hope the boys are fired up tomorrow! I want to see an angry team out for some revenge.

Given fox mulder is in I see a massive emphasis on tackling the Bulldogs until they yield

Fox averaged over 8 tackles a game in the vfl

Three debutants. Fox, Hayward and Newman. Nothing like mixing it up a bit.
