Must be grand at the moment to live in a delusional bubble where the umpires duly deliver whatever you want, when you need it........right on cue. I fu**ing hate umpires. On a brighter note, a lot to like about our Swannies tonight, when we get some better players back and the new boys, who were great and some 'never say die' attitude. Proud of them! Just don't mention umpires.........Comment

Newman and Hayward great. Florent classy, will get more of it. Aliir was rusty, but worked his way into it. Jack battled on well, although he's underdone. Reid was excellent. We need more from Parker, who looks hobbled, and Hannebery. Mills was poor most of the night, but kept trying. Marsh gets the most out of himself. Fox moves a little slowly for his role. Naismith kept trying.
Buddy's a champion.
We really need the grunt of Heeney to free up those older players a bit.
Lloyd our best. Very consistent. Strong mind.

Shouldn't. Low force, not high.Comment

I thought Dogs were the better team. And I'd prefer we aren't 0-2 but I thought there were some promising signs from the youngsters. The old guard (Hanners, Parker, even Jack) lifted in the last Q too. Optimistic that we'll put another nail in Nathan Buckley's coaching career next Friday night.Comment

I'm bound to be berated for this view, but I'm not too disappointed tonight.
Sure, lost to last years premiers, playing away.
Blooded 3 new players, that's an injection of not much experience, all of whom acquitted themselves serviceably. Potential there.
Our defence has been decimated by injury early this season, against a solid forward line. That was always going to be tough.
Lost Tippett early - that will always hurt team structure.
Sam show form (glad the Swans list managers don't heed some of the RWO call to trade him - though I'm sure another quiet week will have him on the trade table again).
No comment on the umpiring from me.
We were well in it with 5 minutes to go. We didn't finish it, but 10 minutes before hitting the front I doubt too many here thought we'd get even close.
Much happier tonight than after the Port game.
Still doesn't mean I'm not livid with another game against the fairypuppies where we got bent over the rack by the umpires - in particular that Hosking fool (he is on my list - I'll be berating umpires on the way out at every game I go to in Sydney this year at this rate). But there was a lot of spirit shown tonight, and I reckon some seriously good footballers on show for the first time as well. Hayward in particular I thought was excellent in the 2nd half."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

With all due respect you know nothing about the game. He'd left the ground and couldn't pullout. End of story. On top of that; unintentional, low impact, blah, blah.Comment

It was a huge effort considering Parker and Hanners were down and Kennedy was targeted as he was in the GF. We really shouldn't have even got close considering we were down a rotation. Hayward and Florent add much needed pace to our side which can be made to look slow by the Dogs' quick ball movement
Cunningham's effort against Bontempelli was embarrassing. At least give a contest and if he still marked it then credit to Bont. But it was basically an uncontested possession to Bont.Comment

That was a dreadful decision. Sure give the free kick (Even though it really wasn't there). But what the @@@@ was the 50m penalty for. As bad as the Allir holding call, or the Mills rushed behind, or the Jones HTB when he got crunched as soon as he got it. We got a couple of lucky calls, but they got a hell of a lot more over the night, just like on grand final day."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Legitimately thought the Swans were better than the dogs tonight. The Dogs just made the most of their opportunities, half of which were from the umpires.
The GF I thought we had a bad run but in the end the Dogs were marginally better, but tonight I thought we were terrific and to get robbed in this way after the GF is just heartbreakingComment

Lengthy injury list watching this game, many are walk-up starters in our side.
