Just heard Horse on SEN. He sounds confident that Rampe will play. Said he is very fit. He was a bit non committal on Tippett. Said he had a bit of tightness in his hip in the 2's.

If Rampe has recovered I'd bring him in for McVeigh and Tippett for Sinclair. Dawson, Aliir and Rohan can continue to get form in the NEAFL. Hope Dawson is a main stay in the midfield in the reserves, would love him to string a few of those performances together!Comment

How much more workman-like can a defence get. Ours should be named The Proletariat 6. Talia could be a good replacement for Reg in due course. What we need is someone who can break out of our defence and transition into attack. I'm sick of seeing Jake Lloyd, eyes darting in every direction, giving little hand signals for someone to get on the move, then kicking to a contest which we usually lose. Aliir gets the ball and takes off. Without Rampe and Aliir our defence is more workmanlike than a sweatshop in Bangladesh.Comment

I think the double swap - Rampe / Aliir for Marsh / McVeigh, whilst harsh on Marsh, would improve our backline both defensively and offensively and mean Reid is no longer required to play as the spare down back.Comment

So it certainly looks like its Rampe for McVeigh which is logical and probably Tippett for dropsy Sinclair. Might be the only change/s.
Want Dawson to keep having good NEAFL games as his attributes are much needed at senior level. We really lack a medium forward and Dawson could be the man.
The backline will look so much better with both Newman and Rampe back there, and I repeat myself that Melican is looking like a find. Just noticed thsat our back six is basically all former rookies, Reg, Melican, Smith, Newman, Rampe! Hats off to the recruiters.Comment

If Tippo's not 100% fit, give him another week in the NEAFL. This is a huge game for the Swans, need only fit players.Comment

Naismith will do the bulk of the ruck work, Tippett can play predominantly FF, Reid CHF (shouldn't be needed down back) and Buddy ...... well he can go where ever he likes!Comment

I want AA in there also
Rampe likely removes the need for Marsh
Marsh I'm fine not to be there as long as we have the speed to shut down medium / small forwards
I suspect that is the main reason Marsh has been in the backline as he is strong up high and fast enough to go up and down the ground with med to smalls
Mills isn't
Macca isn't
Lloyd primarily plays loose
Rampe is
Is we have Melican reg and AA on the talls Rampe can truly play loose and or match up on med / small forwards"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Florent needs a game after resting last week and not the usual practice to keep a tall player as an emergency so probably will be DawsonComment

Reiwoldt at 193 and McCartin at 194 are quite quick talks - then Membery at 188. Otherwise the goal scorers are quite small mids and pressure forwards.
It will be interesting to see how our defensive players match upComment
