I'm sick of having two ruckmen do stuff all so let's make it one ruckman. Aliir and/or Reid to help out.

Tippett is playing as a forward not a ruckman. The issue is not playing 2 ruckmen its playing an out of form key forwardComment

Longmire: Kieren Jack and Sam Naismith will both be available to play this week.

Longmire: it will be unlikely that we have Naismith, Tippett and Sinclair all playing in the same team.
— Sydney Swans (@sydneyswans) June 7, 2017
Longmire: Sam Reid and Jake Lloyd (concussions) have both pulled up well & trained well this week and both are expected to play.

I'd be happy if they named mongrel and ruthless. We always win when they play.
I'm not confident.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Looks like we're set for a wet game. It's been beautiful in Sydney for the past month or so but the rain arrived yesterday and is back with a vengeance today. Right now it's bucketing down as hard as I've ever seen it rain in Sydney. Forecast indicates the wet will continue for a few days yet. This may (or may not) affect the number of big men selected.
I don't think Florent is quite ready for senior footy yet but he was excellent in a wet NEAFL game a few weeks back and he's had a rest over the bye, so I'd keep him in the team for now.
As for the players returning from injury, now that the team has a critical mass of experienced players in the team, I'd like to see them all come back via the NEAFL. Jack and McVeigh need to prove that their bodies are ready for the rigours of a full game (even at a lower level), and Naismith's season has also been very stop-start. Injuries happen during games but I'm not in favour of bringing players in where there's knowledge ahead of time that they may not last the game.We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!Comment

It looks like it is going to be a wet and greasy night game.
I would prefer Sinclair to Naismith, he seems more mobile and would have more match fitness.
I would like to see Jack in a small forward role. I think we need someone to help Papley/Hayward crumb off our talls and apply defensive pressure.
Apparently Florent is good in the wet. But I can't see him having much impact against the bulldog pressure in miserable conditions.Comment

Do we have any rovers?
Remember when we had rovers?
A rover or two would probably help.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Showing your age Annie, we had ruck/rovers as well, I think Gerard Healy was one. I'm happy with the new terminology but cringe when I hear the descriptor "quarterback" used by the odd commentator.Comment
-
I must have missed it.
I thought quarterback was a reference to half-back... but only a quarter of the way!
I'd just love to see maybe two players go for the obligatory screamer (instead of five or six), with the other three (or four) players standing back a bit ready to pick up the crumbs.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Tippett is not a forward. He may have been recruited as a forward, but that does not make him one.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

KJ is a certainty given the conditions. It is just a matter of how many ruckmen we play. If they drop Tippett or Sinkers then they could play AA as the mobile tall who pinch hits 10 mins every quarter in the ruck. For mine it is:
IN: Kizza and AA
OUT: Hayward & SinkersComment
