Yes, apparently coming to us in a package deal with Toby Greene after GWS decided to adopt a "No dickheads" policy!

Cannot judge too early. Rhyce Shaw was know as a hard drinking party boy in his younger years(along with Heath Shaw) now he is one hell of a good coach!!IMHO.

Yes, apparently he and the Jarrad (who are both members at the same golf club) played a match play round recently to decide
who would be coming to us as an assistant coach next year and who would be coaching at GWS. Stevie, who is a decent A grade
club golfer won easily, 8-and-7, and he chose us as the SCG is lot closer to his home course.

Isn't his contract similar to Sam Mitchells where he just rolls into coaching at the giants next year?

I don't think so. GWS probably like the idea because as a new club in Sydney they do not have any ex players to help out.

I've never liked Stevie J on the field but he is regarded in the industry as a senior coach in the making.

Would think he would be a huge acquisition and he would bring new ideas and mix things up. Harley would be hugely influential here I'd say

The rumour began on SEN I think Swans to add star to coaching ranks?

Garry Lyon hinted Johnson?s coaching career could kick off with cross-town rival Sydney. ?I heard that maybe the Sydney Swans are great fans of his footy mind and Tom Harley will be well aware of that,?

Perhaps as a replacement for Dew if Dew takes over as the Suns' coach?

Bad start for Harley if he's giving jobs to his mates already.

Steve used to be one of the current players that would occasionally pop up to provide some insights during match coverage (he may still be and I've just not stumbled upon it), and it always struck me when he was doing the footy lab analysis part how insightful his observations were and how articulately he could explain points. I understand he has been heavily involved at GWS in the development of both Greene and Patton- ignoring Greene's stupidity this year, his actual football development has been significant in the time Johnson has been there.

If he was to join, I daresay it's more a case of Harley leveraging a relationship to pull off a recruiting coup more than it is Harley just throwing off jobs to his mates.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

GWS has always made it pretty clear part of the reason they recruited Johnson was because of his footy smarts and his abilities to
pass them on to their young list, and if Greene (AA last year) and Patton (possible 40 man squad for the AA this year) are his main
pupils then it's certainly worked for them. I can't imagine Tom Harley would hand out jobs on our coaching staff to blokes just
because he used to play with them. I'm sure he takes his job a bit more seriously than that.

No thanks. Not after the disgraceful way he carried on against us in the semi final last year.
