We were outplayed for large periods of the game. We looked great in the 1st qtr, but faded out. It was a great victory against some atrocious umpiring. The karma bus helped us by their poor goal kicking.

Winning the game means less than what we learned from the game. The main points I take from it are that Towers, Hayward and Sinclair are not suitable for finals football. Newman and Aliir are the 2 obvious inclusions, but I'm not sure about the 3rd. Maybe Cunningham will be ready.

After Round 6, I was hoping to avoid the wooden spoon.

Now, we're finals bound AGAIN! And we beat the top side AND the umps on their own turf to make a certainty of it.

      LOVE. THIS. CLUB!

      Go the mighty Bloods!!!!!!
I'll confess I'm one of those who suggested we should start tanking after the loss to Scumthorn. The effort by the club since then has been one for the record books. It's why I love this club; we have an integrity that can't be compared to any other club, our management structure is faultless and we have the AFL community against us.

If we meet them or GWS in the finals it will be an exit.
It was very hard for us to get any momentum when we could get absolutely no reward for effort and the crows got an almighty hand up whenever required. We did amazingly well to hold on - just immense effort from the back 6.

With even umpiring it would of been a very different story tonight.

What frustrates me is the only comments we will hear about the.umpiring is the 50 call against bwuce's baby... which looked spot on to me.

Adelaide were better in moving the ball - except when it came to a kick for goal.

We were better when we harassed and tackled as well as we are taught to do. The defence tonight really earned their money and the mids worked hard, while the forwards on the whole made the most of their chances.

As we said to Hawthorn fans after the 2012 GF, goal kicking is an important part of the game!

And I generally don't like bellyaching about umpires but that performance tonight needs to be looked at.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Wow, bring the vibe down! If we are umpired fairly, we'll beat either of them!

I've supported Hayward's selection all year, but agree with that. Newman for Towers (reckon that dropped chest mark late sealed it), Cunningham for Hayward. Realistically, it'll be Naismith for Sinclair (not Aliir), but only if he's fit enough next week

Six of our players did not concede free kicks: Kennedy (31 disposals), Hannebery (28), Mills (14), Smith (10), Towers (6) and Hayward (6).

                      Nine Crows conceded free kicks.

From the match report on the AFL website:
"The topic of home-town umpiring will again be in the news after the Crows finished the game with 28 free kicks to 14.

Several of those went against Heeney in his over-zealous attempts to keep Sloane quiet."

How was that goal from Buddy? Almost identical to what he did several years ago against Hooker except that he's older and stuffed up a bounce. I think it's a better goal.
