So we've hit the festive season break, all players have returned to training after their longest breaks for some years, only Tippett with major post season surgery, Buddy and Heeney some minor stuff, all seven draftees turned up without niggles and nearly the whole squad has completed the majority of sessions.
So our Xmas present is a squad in better shape than it's been since records have been kept and new found enthusiasm and vision in the coaching box. That'll do me.
Pretty amazing Reg played such a good season with minimal training during the week all season and same with Tippo carrying his ankle injury with minimal during the week training
Hannes with his OP all season which is a pain in the arse injury...... well almost but u know what I mean !

Interesting chatting to the players and how much a tough vs easy draw makes a difference in their opinion come final time some teams are cooked and some have a full tank
Dogs
Richmond
Very nice draws each year respectively in their GF winning years

Essendon next year? Let the fairytales continue......?
finally the last few years we have had two games vs gws in Sydney ie only one extra game ie the away game vs gws at Blacktown but in a season of inches it all counts
The Melb teams have had a massive advantage re home and away in Melb games
My Swans magazine arrived today and as usual it's a good read.
I found the John Blakey pr?cis of our six debutants very interesting, particularly Jordan Dawson - "We expect Jordan to really stake his claim in 2018 .......... While he was outstanding in the NEAFL, he was easily our best player, for a variety of reasons he wasn't able to break back into the senior side"
derrrrr, maybe if you had selected Dawson instead of other much lesser players for promotion to the seniors on several occasions eh?
I really expect Jordan Dawson to become best 22 early in the season, far too much footy ability to languish in the NEAFL whilst other lesser players with low ceilings keep spots.
