With our guys dominating the u18 series so far , it will be interesting to see who gets picked for the allies team as there still seems to be a bit of inbuilt prejudice against the non traditional area NSW boys.
Last year despite being undefeated in the series, Swans Academy had 9 boys to GWS 12. GWS finished third in the series with three wins out of five.
The real measure of the success of the academy will be if boys start getting drafted to other AFL teams. At the moment , the reality is that two at most get picked up by the swans and the rest miss out. Real success for the AFL will be when five or six swans academy kids get drafted to AFL teams .Comment

This year the allies is managed by nsw afl so I would expect a fair run. Last year it was afl qld who ran it and they didn?t do a very good job of selecting from nsw.
Given that the swans academy is getting stronger each year I think the other afl teams will start looking very closely at the players. I think by the time the under 16s are in their draft year There will be a number of academy players taken by other clubs.Comment

I note there's also a Casalini named for the NEAFL side, surely they can't be the same personComment

"Swans-bound forward Nick Blakey slotted three goals in the opening half to keep his side in the contest and took a brilliant speccy." ..........I want to see that!
