Shiel is a Rolls Royce. Really impressed with the Cats Kelly, he looks a class player, another good mature age pick up by Geelong.

A bit like our game last week, both sides had a lot of their best players missing but where GWS is concerned, make it a grind and they often go missing.

          Me too. Both class players.

I like Heath Shaw, and watching him hit up Geelong players was painful, but did make me feel a whole lot better about the Swans skills.

At once stage a commentator mentioned that of their top 8 goalkickers last year, only 1 was playing last night. That has got to hurt, but they did look listless in bringing it out of defence, and just bombed it away to disadvantage when going inside 50.

I wanted them to do better, but they were never going to make it close playing like that.

I still think they are a possibility of winning it.

Even with injuries they usually finish close to top four. Then if they have their best players available they are capable of beating any other team in a one off finals game.

Suns up on the Dogs at quarter time. Would love to see them win this one......I tipped them (before I realised they had Lynch and May out!).

Another match heading in the right direction.....Essendon up by 16pts against Dawks late in the first.

Yep, like to see both the Suns win and the Hawks lose.

Well, they're a possibility, but I don't think that it's a strong a possibility, as most pundits think it is. To me, they were probably at their peak, when Mumford was at his peak, a couple of years ago. Now they are still capable of thrashing poor sides, but no so capable of standing up to good sides.

                        C'mon Suns!!
Ambivalent about Dons/Hawks. One of those games you want both teams to lose.

Yes, sometimes games like that just bring out the bastard in me, and all I'm really barracking for, are injuries and suspensions.

GWS are an interesting one bit I reckon even if they get their best players back and into form they?ve got some structural problems.

They miss Mummy big time. People easily under estimated his play around the ground at his peak beyond the crash bang in the middle. Lobb just isn?t as well rounded.

They also lost Nathan Wilson, Zac Williams did his Achilles for the year and Heath Shaw is showing real signs of age. That?s their back half run effectively gone and part of what made them so lethal.

And they don?t have a true small speedy forward who can both crumb a couple and put on serious defensive pressure.

That, plus their general aversion to tackling....

I thought Swans v North was on TV tonight (in Vic) but I just noticed we have to watch another one sided yawn fest in Crows v Blues. Very disappointing Seven!!! Hawks and Dogs go on to win this afternoon.....also very disappointing.
