Stevic! Argghh. How is he allowed to umpire Hawthorn games. He doesn't even try to hide his bias.

Frees are 12 to 12 so I don't think we can get too carried away although they've missed a few for us.

Rosebury was mentioned soon after and I wondered if BT had made a mistake......oh well, they are from the Stevic school of bias.

Happy we are in front and playing ok but with the closeness and the umpiring trend...... I am uneasy.Comment

The umpires are Jeff Dalgleish (7) - the one who paid a free to Gunston for holding Mills's jumper, Nick Foot (2) who paid a free kick against Nick Smith for sliding and Brett Rosebury (8) who paid the deliberate OOB against Rohan.Comment

His spirit is clearly at the 'G. There have been four or five utterly non-existent frees paid against us, including the first of the game and that one against Mills.
However, it's been a decent game of footy so far and we're in it right up to our necks. The Hawks aren't trying (or haven't been able to implement) that keepings-off style that frustrated us so much in the two games last season. Who knows whether we can hold up in the second half but our forward line certainly looks lively and unpredictable.Comment

The frees have been very biased - how about Sicily getting done 20 metres out by Ronke - play on of course.
I said we should have picked McCartin against Geelong - he is standing very tall and doing good stuff in his first game. Ronke, well, I would not be suprised if he doesnt score in the second half or kicks another 5!Comment

Quality umpiring.... not.
But we are putting in a damn decent effort so far, mainly on the back of the younger guys so far. Keep it up and we could get a result."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
