Swans chat Bias as a supporter

I was driving along today thinking a little bit about our bias as supporters

    My bias in particular

If we were watching the west coast eagles 7 debutants in 2018 week in week out we would find mistakes in their games also and probably end up marking one or two them very harshly

But if specifically watched our debutants vs WCEs and then contemplated the development pathway of all the debutants in both teams we may become a little more patient in our assessment

As example Hayward vs waterman on the weekend

How many times have u seen jake waterman play footy ?

Or waterman vs Hayward vs Tom McCartin ?

If u have only seen waterman play vs the Swans on the weekend u might think he is only so so

Vic versa if u have only seen Hayward or McCartin play first time on the weekend u might think they are so so?

Bias is nothing more than out propensity to maintain a certain point of view. It tends to shape not just our way of thinking, but also our actions and behavior.

We don?t intend to be biased in our analysis, it happens as a natural function of the human brain. It enables us to assess situations quickly, and is quite useful in survival situations
