John Longmire just told 3AW that Lewis Melican has done his hammy again, at training... 3rd time he's had a setback. Got through NEAFL last week & would have played again this week @AFLcomau

Horrendous day for injuries. Patton doing his ACL, Melican doing his Hammy again, Carlisle and Bruce at the Saints.

That is surely his year done now you would think, or close to it

This is really bad news for Melican. I can't see him playing again this year. The 3rd time he has done it when he's close to coming back in.

Will it be better for his hamstring if he doesn't try and play for the rest of the year or will it make no difference long term?

It's really worrying about Melican with the number of injuries he's had, which dates back to his 1st year with us. I hope he's not one of those players, like the Reid Brothers, that find it hard to get through any season without injury. Maybe we should send Lewis to that specialist in Germany where they all seem to go when we run out of solutions in Australia. Lewis is now having recurring injuries in both legs within
          short periods of time.

Hammy's twice on each side now, according to Horse on afl.com.au......it's a worry for sure.

Yes a real blow as definitely in our best side these days. Alir will really need to step up not like Sinclair did when we lost Naismith.

On the bright side, AA was pretty good tonight.

First half did some dumb things, but 2nd half was very good I thought - he still has a tendency to overthink things sometimes, but he has played well. The awful setback for Melican aside, at least it'll give Aliir confidence that he has a spot in the side and can build on a couple of solidy games.

That's unfortunate. Hope he doesn't turn into a Heath James

Unfortunately, Melican has a bad history with injury:
                        1. Missed almost the entire 2015 season with persistent groin problems.
                        2. Had 2 stints on the sidelines in 2016 with hamstring injuries.
                        3. Missed the 2017 finals due to a quad strain.
                        4. Missed most of 2018 due to recurring hamstring injuries in both legs.
