Even though AJ has had a late start to the season and hasn't played that many games this year, he has definitely improved this season and just has an AFL look about his game. I got the feeling after last game that if he can avoid getting injured again he has better than a 50-50 chance of making it back to the seniors. Our NEAFL side can be so dominant for long stretches of the game that it can be hard for defenders to show off their abilities on a consistent basis, simply due to lack of opportunity to see the ball in their area.

I don't know what the criteria is for AJ to be considered for senior selection, if he needs to show the kind of consistency that younger players usually need or he's more like a senior player coming back from injury, albeit a very long layoff.

More importantly, will we see a return of "Irish Corner"?

Would like to see Marsh back.

He is quick and if we are willing to give mccartin games to get confidence, i think we should just leave him in the side.

He has been better than Hannas, jack and a few others, but because he is not Horse pet, doesn't get any love.

And COR!! Yes i have been banging that drum a long time, but form must re rewarded!!!

For a player in year 6 in the AFL he hasn't developed that well. He has a good skill set and open field pace, but is actually has a slow reaction time when it comes to making decisions and taking those 1st few steps. This makes Marsh a mediocre defender who is often beaten in 1 on 1 contests.

It's not that he's a bad player, but he doesn't look as though he will ever become a player worthy of a best 22 spot.

Here's the full photo from the Swans website training pics (the insta shot was cropped). They look happy alright but I'm not getting a 'happiness over a huge selection vibe' from it.....but you never know. It says on the insta post: "sydneyswans@kc_ramplin all the boys were very excited ???? this was just reaction during a warm up activity!" while the caption on the Swans website says "SIX!" Coach yells a number, you have to get into a group that size...

Mmmmmm. It is indeed intriguing but possibly nothing. Fingers crossed though.....

Just goes to show how excited WE will all be when it does happen. Imagine how AJ himself and all the team will be.

Two losses and some worrying signs but there seems to be too much giving up around here for my liking. Richmond are clearly number 1 but every other side has had a stumble or two with the "experts" writing off their chances. I'd prefer to keep swinging hard and lose trying to win it all this year rather than planning for next year already. I reckon we are specials this week at Etihad against the Roos. My changes are:

                      In: Papley, Heeney, COR, Cameron
                      Out: Hanners, Jack, McVeigh, Robinson

No debut announcements by the Swans, but surely there will be at least one debutant?

AJ doesnt count as a debutant. Although anyone under the age of 6 would have every right to think so.

Only one player is realistically a chance to debut this week (unless Sinclair joins the injured brigade).

You’d think that they’d have made a decision on COR early in the week, given the logistics involved in inviting his family over to see the game.

Swans often go early on announcing debuts. Makes me wonder?

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. I don’t think Stoddart’s debut was announced ahead of the team announcement. Or Ronke’s either.
