Woah! Great stuff (I'll go and read the thread now). So thrilled by the effort.

You can tell BT is part of Team Ludwig: He loves Aliir and Jake Lloyyyyyyyyd.

I’ve always enjoyed BT, he adds to the theatre of it all.
Brayshaw wasn’t biased , pretty fair really.

I thought Brayshaw was trying hard not to be biased, so he came across as pro-Sydney, if anything.

Yes he did a Troy Luff by overcorrecting his bias. Which annoyed the heck out of the hoi polloi on the North BF board

Heeney was huge..He stood up and took control of the midfield...Hats off to him.

Apologies, I am responding as I read through the thread post match - but I am very glad you made this point.

I was screaming out lead up, lead up at the time. They actually did the opposite and ran away deeper inside 50 (as if kicking an 80-metre pass is something they expected he could do) - bewildering.

I am happy anytime Jones takes the game on - someone has to - he just needs more support when he does (on and off the field).

Thought was about Will Hayward's best game.
Harry Cunningham gets better by the week. His kicking was pinpoint and really makes space all over the ground. The goal he kicked he ran for a long way to get on his own.
Heeney's last quarter was special. Willed himself on the game.
Allir has great poise and his disposal was pretty darn good. Reads the play well and is very courageous.
Robbie Fox was ok and really nailed that last quarter goal. Doesn't waste the footy.
Tom McCartin has star written all over him, and not just as a forward.
Sinkers was ok but is looking for rest. Darcy comes in next week and Sinkers is "managed".
Thought Rampe was good despite having 5 kicked on him. His last quarter rebounding was very good. Never dropped his head.
Zac keeeps making the same mistakes. How a bloke running forward 20 metres in the clear can get himself caught turning back into play is an art in itself. He had 6 kicks and 17 handballs. It should have been the reverse. Having said that I don't know that we had a passenger.
What a difference it makes when you take out a player that had 8 immediate turnovers the previous week.
Loved how finally we had players running into the forward line to support Buddy.
All Ben Ronke has to do is play front and centre when the ball comes in long. It's ok with me if we bomb it long and he and Papley are at the fall of the ball. Paps game would have looked better if he didn't miss 2 "sitters".
What I noticed was that we won a lot more 50/50 contests than in recent week and much quicker movement into the forward line.
Best field kicking of the year.

Really enjoyed Dan Robinson's last couple of weeks, certainly among the best he's played. Ronke and Allir could both really turn into something special.

We're still in it - but if we're honest, not convinced this is the team to get us deep into September.

Congrats to North as well. We had 2 teams that like contested footy, but played the kind of game the AFL would be proud of.

Great efforts from Ziebell and Majak.

In the end, Ludwig's All Stars won the day. Aliir and Ronke both fantastic.
I think it has to be acknowledged that Higgins is the best midfielder in the competition at the moment. Hewett had almost no impact on him, and that makes twice this year he's carved us up.

One thing I noticed today was how intently Allir watches the ball. I figure the ball is more important than the man. I love watching him play

NO! The umpiring is part of the game and unfortunately for our club, often a very negative part of the game.....it needs to be discussed because it is not a delusion, it is real. You surely don't think the umpiring was......ok?

Problem is, with Higgins that is, you can't even touch him. He gets a free just by throwing his arms into the air. He is a really good mid but for Christ's sake he gets heaps of frees he doesn't deserve. umpire's pet.

Speaking of umpire's pets. Norf were indeed that tonight. 20-9 and about 25-30 throws we should have got. Not to mention all the holding the ball decisions that seemed to be ignored when it was us tackling. Norf are another protected species, an AFL, sorry VFL love child just like Footescray.

I am very pissed off over the umpiring. I also think our players played 25 players tonight. They were magnificent. Sometimes, especially the third, I doubted we could do it and I was pissed off by Horse's tactics. He allowed them to have space in the third. We never allow that but the first and third we did. We also just bombed again. I HATE THAT!!!!!

But we fixed it all up in the last.

I have to congratulate Colin O'Riordan on such a very good debut. Good on ya kid ya killed 'em.

More than a little pissed off with our disposal in the first and third quarters and our inability to contain their best mids and their half backs. But in all a very good game. Disposal has to be a main concern though.

By the way Ronke is already something special. No small forward kicks bags of 7 & 5, NEVER, not even Bruest or Eddie have done that.

I really enjoyed Hayward’s nous , and especially when he marked near the goals, foxes that he’s going back to take the kick , then just reverses and dashes in to kick the goal.

Overall, I thought North had a bit more composure, but the Bloods will to win beat the Shinboner spirit whatever that is and it’s not mentioned much these days.
