The fact that the MC have chosen to play Franklin injured all year and haven't been able to come up with an alternative plan to "kick it to Buddy and the 3 defenders hanging off him" reflects poorly on them and just further validates Brereton's arguments
Robinson, Brereton and Barrett write very shallow analyses for an audience who rely on them to be informed
Coaches and players would know they write provocative rubbish but have media training to deal with it. Fantasy world that changes week by week taken seriously by lots of people, sadly.

So what did you disagree with in Breretons article?

When we lose a couple , he, like others in the media, go back to the lazy idea that we still play like we did when Roos was coach. We are capable of playing a style of quick ball movement without compromising our pressure around the ball. We made grand finals in 2014 and 2016 doing this- 2016 PF at MCG v Cats was the epitome of this. We have won 11 games this year . Round 1 v West Coast, the last time Buddy was fully fit, was an example of how we wanted to play, along with a number of other victories. I reckon we have over achieved this season given the amount of injuries to experienced players and the huge number of very young players we have We were lucky to beat Bulldogs, North and Hawks in games that could have gone either way.

The fact that Robinson, Brereton and Barrett never mention how many young players we have in the team is staggering. Young players like ours take 3 or 4 years to mature and there is always fatigue and inconsistencies. We were able to freshen up Heeney in 2016 but because players like Reid, Jack, Hanneberry etc are out, the youngsters are carrying too big a load. McCartin, Hayward, Ronke and even Papley are babes in the woods still. Our midfield has been cut in half. We are struggling because of the above reasons. Never mentioned by so called experts looking for a negative angle.

This type of analysis in not unique to us. All teams are treated like this. You get shallow analysis across all 18 teams.

People on Facebook starting to blame the trade ban for our 'Swans dive'

Hope nobody here is so stupid.

If Richmond get lynch, then it's the same scenario as swans trade ban.

Same scenario but won't be treated with the same vindictiveness. Melbourne media completely rolled over when it happened to us as well

They'll be lauded for their brilliant list management and recruitment strategy.... wont be a single question how they can afford someone of that quality despite potentially being a dual premiership team..

I was of the belief that he hurt his heel that game due to the hard surface. If that is the case then his knee/thigh is a different injury. Don't forget that he's had some pretty good games this year excluding the last few weeks.

If anything the way Buddy has been used defies his injury. If he was injured why would they be playing him further up the ground where more running is involved?

I was impressed with Daisy Pearce on SEN last Saturday when the topic "are the Swans on the decline" was raised. Unlike her fellow commentators (which included KB), she said write off the Swans at your own peril, claiming how everyone were writing them off just last year when they were 0-6. However she then went into detailed analysis of our list which included all our young upcoming talent. Haven't heard any media person, particularly in Melbourne having this depth knowledge of our list. It did make KB think twice!

Buddy has looked great this year we just havent been able to get good ball to him all year.
I think last week was more an issue of 6 day breaks he should be fine this week

While I must admit I find the pitch of her voice a little bit annoying(though nowhere near as nauseating as BT), her football brain is excellent - her analysis of the game is usually well considered, she seems to actually do her research and knows her stuff. I enjoy listening to what she has to say so much more than the old boys club.

The one that has got really terrible is Cling Wrap - he has become truly unbearable to listen to now, just full of inane garbage 99.95% of the time.
