Probably because Goodesy showed again that he was a strong, proud, determined, purposeful and defiant man with a vision for a better world. Racists don't like that.

Yep that pretty much sums it up Sandridge.

Yes, I turned off SEN when I heard they were about to discuss it. I found listening to the bile profoundly depressing back in his last season. It really put me off the station. I still don't listen to it nearly as much as I used to. Not a boycott as such, but just a recognition that there are better uses of my life than putting myself through that.

Who was discussing it, Whateley, Lyon and Watson? What was their reason for bringing it up?

Read through the thread and you will see a couple of suggestions on how you can catch the show.

Lyon and Watson discussed it this morning. It makes me sick how no one has the guts to call it for what it is racism.
                  As I have said before.

Just finished watching it on i-view. Sadness and determination feature strongly, and the finished work shows both.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yes, although I'm not entirely convinced of Ahn's skill as a painter, I highly recommend that episode.

                            Watched it.
One day this ignorant country is going to hang it's collective ignorant head in shame for the way this gem of a man was treated.
It saddens me that he is virtually in hiding. Every time he opens his mouth, the vitriol starts again. I think that he will never be at peace with that treatment, but is intelligent enough to use it to his favour.
His mother and aunty are just the most beautiful people you'd ever want to meet in your life. The first time I met her (years and years and years ago), after thanking her for lending us her son, she gave me the biggest bear hug that I still feel today. She's the driving force behind the man that we love.
I'm happy that he's comfortable enough to make the odd appearance at the club. He knows that he's in a safe, protected zone here.

As for the painting... ehhhhh.... I've seen him do better.
It's not nearly as good as the one released a few years ago done in spray paint.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

What a fantastic bloke Adam Goodes is. Intelligent, articulate, soulful, confident without being arrogant. The show was more about Anh interviewing Adam rather than about painting.

I still have very uncomfortable memories about how he was treated by opposition crowds and he still feels sad about the way he retired.

I doubt the white masses will ever understand their racist attitudes. How dare you, an indigenous man, stand up for yourself (and your culture).

If i ever ran into Adam in the street I would shake his hand and tell him what a great man he is - then probably burst into tears.

His paintings are a bit abstract, but I like them. Each to their own
