Yep - there were plenty I thought from afar in the ground looked very Bulldog like - maybe I'm too cynical for my own good on these things, but when it looks like a miracle handpass, more often than not that's because it was a throw.

That's great! And get this: the crowd for the 1918 game was 39 262. Last night's crowd: 39 238. OK, just a dumb "almost the same" numbers coincidence, but I liked it.

Nobody got hurt, I doubt there will be any suspensions.

I'll be honest: I thought this place might be a bit cheerier!

          I really enjoyed the game.

          - Big crowd, lots of noise
          - 6 Buddy goals, including some crackers like the one near the boundary deep in the left pocket, or the "collect, spin 180, skid through goals" for number 3
          - AJ's return, obviously
          - McMartin's winner
          - McVeigh made a difference and looked none the worse for the recent injury
          - Another good outing for Allir, and I though Dawson went well too

I saw it as: even in the first, poor in the second, very good in the third. Not quite far enough ahead to ice it and to the Pies credit, they came back hard. We hung in there, didn't panic, thrilling win.

Sure, it wasn't always a great spectacle. We may be finals also-rans, or even not at all. The Pies were undermanned, but still fielded plenty of talent. And I know we are all still stinging from that Suns loss.

But maybe we just need to celebrate the win.

That’s the exuberant state I left the ground in because it was a benchmark and exciting win on a pretty important day for the club.

I had a forlorn hope that the Pies players might all come over and clap AJ off the ground .
How many players have resurfaced successfully after his tribulations?
It was a very special outcome and I’m still incredulous that they pulled it off .

Yes! We might not get another chance this year

Darcy's comment, "Oh no!". Bloody biased amateur.

He drives me to derision Luke Darcy. All the attributes to be a really good commentator then lets his cheap pro-VFL club bias take over far too often.

I am still a bit confused about what happened with Ronke. His name doesn’t appear on the AFL match report as injured, and he didn’t feature in their weekly wrap of injuries either. Does anyone have more information?

I just found my answer: We’re for Sydney | Daily Telegraph

                      Last paragraph mentions a migraine.

                          Wow.
All game I wondered why the hell did they pick McCartin... now I know why.
Happy we got the four points; and happy we beat the colliwobbles. That should shut up a few of their supporters who have been hassling me for a few weeks!!
Seems I was a bit wrong on AJ. I'm gladly eating fries with my words. Where the hell have they been hiding him for six years??
Great win. Great wins make me happy.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

A second helping of fries with Macca getting back in 4 weeks and having a solid game as well?

Great win by the team on Saturday night - a real heart stopper. Our third quarter footy was fantastic, the other three quarters pretty lousy. I think what this all showed was that we can play fast footy, with quick transition into forward 50. I wonder if the guys thought they had nothing to lose as they were getting beaten quite convincingly around the park and threw caution to the wind. Then when they were in front, retreated back into their shells due to a complete lack of self belief?
