Well, they've obviously been busy organising original 3 quarter time entertainment activities such as stealing the GWS sponsor's idea of kicking a football into [insert sponsor's product]

Some clubs do this down here in Melbourne too. Geelong, Hawthorn, Richmond etc. Maybe it's a directive from the AFL to enhance match day experience ????.

Agree that it would be good if they could move the B&F to somewhere that could accommodate more people. They seem to be stuck with having all events at Star Casino nowadays, while in past years they used to sometimes use city hotels. I don't know how the Star capacity compares to other venues, but I am sure there are some bigger ones available.

We're sucked into a sponsorship with Star - hence all our functions are there.
We used to have them at the old convention centre at Darling Harbour. We moved to Star because the new convention centre was being rebuilt.
The grand ballroom at the new ICC holds 2,000.
That's 600 more than the Star.
That's 600 extra corporate tickets they can give away.

Better we give tickets to corporates whose only intention is to get @@@@ faced for free.
Admittedly, we only want to get @@@@ faced too (at a cost to us)... but at least we're interested in the result.
