Just had a look - plus the words ‘Bring your black belt, Pies’.

    Disgraceful promotion.

I'm actually hoping he repeats the Nic Newman one tonight, just to enjoy the response (and see whether the umpires now understand that this is not permissible). I don't want any Collingwood player to get injured as a result, but am curious to see their response.

Yes, each side kicking each other in the marking contests: what could possibly go wrong?

If Greene tries any karate kicks I will be joining in the booing ????.

I'm surprised at the number of GWS supporters here. More than turn up to the SCG ????.

My first time seeing GWS live. Lol their song sounds like something from Russia! Sounds different than hearing it through the tv.

Now it's worming through my ear. I think it's a catchy tune; the tone is befitting a team a giants.

If a defender was able to grab Greene's foot, to protect himself from a karate kick, and dumps Greene on his head, I wonder how the AFL would view that action. Does a player have the right to protect himself from getting studs in his face?

Yes, I was musing the same thing earlier in the week. Hopefully, we get to find out later.

At quarter time, Pies have been great and Giants woeful. But, the umpiring so far has been hugely pro-Pies.

Yes, but I seem to remember that GWS could hit a target last week. Don't know why they can't this week? Did they join our players on Mad Monday celebrations?

Probably no one could work out who they wanted to win. I was just glad that there had to be a loser.

I thought Collingwood got an amazing run with the umpires through that game. Quite a low free kick count in the end overall, and the difference wasn't that much (16-12) but they seemed to get away with some incorrect disposals/holding the balls that GWS were pulled up on pretty quickly. I don't think the umpires consciously go into games with a bias, but sheesh a big home crowd baying for blood can have an impact.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Fully agree! Especially in the first quarter where the free kick count was 8 - 2 in Collingwood's favour. Admittedly, the Pies were a vastly superior team in that quarter but they got some very soft free kicks and the Giants couldn't buy one.
