Played 110 games and kicked 17 goals in his six-season stint at Collingwood before ongoing back and hamstring problems forced him to retire in 1980. Never won a premiership.
"Moving into football administration as opposed to using his degree in biochemistry, he relocated to Brisbane and joined Queensland AFL as director of coaching, eventually becoming general manager in 1986", which is similar to Harley's progression.
