Swans chat 60 Greatest Swans Marks!

Found this on YouTube & thought it would be good viewing to pass through the off season. Heeney's Mark Of The Year can now be added to this list. Gee just how good was Paul Kelly!!! He's featured quite a few times.

Opposing players sure used to get pissed off at Wiz when he brough down the speccies. Copped a few whacks for his good work (but no doubt he'd been giving lip).

I thought the same, watching those clips. In today's game he'd be getting 50m penalties with fair regularity.

Agree! Loved Wiz. What I was trying to say is just how much a good all round player was Paul Kelly, as he was also a champion goal kicker and electrifying midfielder.

I was expecting to see more Goodsey marks in the montage, though I guess it tried to share the love around. In his prime he had a standing vertical leap that I’ve not seen many others display on a football field.

Mick Martin his personal step ladder.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Reckon there could have been more Leo marks. Reckon he took a lot of huge grabs. The one where Kelly is running with flight of ball, then turns and gets a ride to mark is absolutely freakish, not to mention incredibly brave.

It's a stain that can never be removed now.....so unfortunate.....so unnecessary.....and so undeserved.

Wiz was his nickname as in "wizzer". Gerard Healy still refers to him as the wiz

Had the pleasure of witnessing some of these marks live, going back to Teaser's hanger over Billy Picken and Max James classic against Hawthorn, both in 1978 I think?

Capper's mark over Langford at VFL Park is the most freakish I've ever seen live. Lucky that it happened right in front of me and had same view as that rear camera shot. Even the Hawthorn supporters around me STOOD and CLAPPED after he'd taken it (hard to believe now I know!!!!). Unfortunately it was the only highlight as we got smashed that day by 99 pts!!! It was the 1987 QF and Capper kicked his 100th Goal for the season in that game, with little fanfare such was the demolition. He kicked 4 of the team's 8 goals that day.

I remember when John Roberts took that screamer against St Kilda (1980), later reading that both Bob Pratt and Laurie Nash were in the wooden stand to witness it. Bob gave his nod of approval to see a full foward in red & white and wearing No.10, soar in the air just like he did almost 50 years earlier.
