Pretty happy with those two. Welcome to the Swans!

I was hoping Tipungwuti was going to get picked up somewhere. A bit of Tiwi magic.

Knoll played college basketball. Only switched to Australian rules in early 2017, after he didn't get a spot in the NBL on his return to Australia.

My son has seen Michael Knoll play for South Adelaide this year, says he can play, and lots of upside as a recent convert to AFL. That we took him first shows we are worried about ruck stocks. Was BOG in the recent SANFL vs WAFL game.

Cody Hirst talked about as a top four pick in the media, happy with that.

These are free picks, we still have a full quota of ND & RD picks and can get half a season of Swans tuition into these two plus a full preseason. Smart move by the club.

What will be interesting now is to see if any of the overlooked players are now taken with ND picks.

Thank goodness we took Hirst with our 2nd pick as I was wild with our first pick being a lumbering ruckman!

While he may be a decent ruckman and we are a little thin in that area, I wouldn't have thought that a 25 or 26 year old ruckman would be what we need to help push us towards our next flag! And as Liz said in another post, I wouldn't think you'd likely find the next Grundy or Gawn in a mid season draft! He'd be older than them both too!

But we redeemed ourselves with our second pick though as Cody Hirst seems like the right speculative pick to make in this type of draft! A young talent who is still a bit small and struggled with injuries in his draft year last year but has some tools that if we are lucky will help him become a great player in the years to come! Elite agility, great leg speed, highly skilled and has some tricks in his arsenal that we could really use going forward!

            I'm happy! [emoji846]

He's only played the game for two years; it's not like he's a journeyman. He's also big. Naismith aside, none of our rucks are winning hit out counts against decent ruckmen.

Darcy Cameron might be feeling a little uneasy right now, given he hasn't been able to break into the team.

I half-jokingly said we needed a ruckman in the MSD. We do need a better one than Sinclair, but we do seem to be stockpiling a lot of them now.

Perhaps we can cobble together one good one out of all the potential rucks on our list including Darcy "nervous" Cameron, Sam Naismith, Amartey, Maclean and now Grassy Knoll.

The new guy is big enough to be a number 1 ruckman. Maybe they've recruited him to motivate Cameron?

South Adelaide must hate us now after we’ve taken two ruckmen from them this season

And West Coast took Brooksby from them preseason too, that's three they've lost :-(

South Adelaide is my local team so if we had to lose Knoll I'm glad it's to the Swans and not to the Injectors who were looking at him, think we foiled the Dodo by taking Knoll first

They could do with a few "vitamins" at the moment.

I heard on the radio that's his tap ruck work has been outstanding this year. I suppose after Grundy gave Sinclair a lesson in that department, they thought it may be a good move.

Bring knoll straight in for the Geelong game.

                              We could do worse.

For those who are interested you can watch the WA v SANFL game that was played a couple of weeks ago where Knoll got B.O.G. for the SANFL team on YouTube.

You can also watch all the NAB League games as well. I started watching the last Eastern game vs Sandringham from 2 weeks ago where Hirst got 31 disposals. He is small but looks to have great skills and decision making which will help us!

Just started having a look at the aforementioned WA vs SANFL game and Knoll hasn't done a lot early on but looks to move well.

I'm sure he'll be ok as often basketballers seem to transition well into the AFL so fingers crossed!
