Captain, you beat me to it. I'm not writing Will off, I actually do rate him but injury in particular has hampered him this year.
My point is that the small forward position is a position of weakness for us. Papley, Will and Ronke are our main 3. Given the seasons Will and Ronke have had and the chatter around Paps, using pick 4 on Serong would be something the club should be considering. Imagine if Paps goes, Will and Ronke struggle with form, who's next? Wicks and Foote, both who are not quite ready yet.

Interesting stat which I'll put here to help increase the optimism for next year:

"According to Champion Data, Sydney’s average losing margin this season of 19 points is the lowest ever for a team to lose 14 matches"

Did you read my post? Did I say anyone was writing him off? Did I not in fact agree that he has had a "down" year? What point are you trying to make? I think you are agreeing with me that Hayward is a part of our future success.

RD, I was careful to note that it is not clear what your position is but that your post reminded me about other posts I have read previously doubting Hayward's worth. If everyone is in agreement that Hayward is an important part of our future then there doesn't seem much more to say and that's the only point I was making.
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

Well if you look at the Swans website rookies don’t exist. The players list only shows senior players, the dropdown tab showing rookies has disappeared .....[emoji35].

Heard Andrew Jarman on radio today say that Brad & Matt Crouch would leave Adelaide if they both received big offers. I'd rather we throw our coin in getting them both than focusing on Joe Daniher (wait till next year when he's a RFA). I also heard whisper we might be interested in Jack Newnes from St.Kilda.

Adelaide has gone from Grand Finalist to basket case very very quickly. Could he play in the same onball brigade as Parker and Hewett, or will he make us too slow?

He's taken a few steps backwards this year, in particular his goal kicking. I am confident that a full preseason to get his body right will see him back to his best. And yes, his continued development will be very important for our team moving forward.

I propose a deal on RWO. If we expect Hayward to be precise and kick straight, then we should all try to spell his name correctly.

So - not being precise and not kicking straight - that was the excuse for having trouble spelling Hannabury’s name?

I think we don’t expect people to get Hannabarry right every time, but we expect to see Honeybeary at least 30 times a week

Let's hope his performance for the Saints on the weekend, will be classic Hanna-Barbera.

                              A thought...

Papley goes to Carlton for there first pick say pick 8. Which we trade for Daniher

Jones goes for an early second round pick then we combine that with our 2nd rounder and trade for a first round pick. Which then gets traded for Moore

We use our first round pick and next year's for Cogniglio

So Daniher, Cogniglio and Moore come into our side looks exciting

In an ideal world, yes, but that's hard to do. We did that last year with Clarke and Thurlow. Clarkes a fringe player for when we need a tagger and Thurlows playing in the NEAFL.
