There's no point playing Harry in the NEAFL. He's a disciplined guy. If he's fit, he's fit.

I don't think it's as simple as saying "if he's fit, he's fit". It's pretty normal for them to ease players back with limited playing time after a long injury layoff. It's not like he's been missing for two or three weeks.
That's much easier to do at NEAFL level than senior level. Clearly the coaches think he's done enough work on the track to be able to come in and play his normal on-field time, and they know more than we do. But that doesn't stop us expressing surprise.Comment

I think it depends on the player (physical attributes, age, experience etc), the injury, the amount of time out, and the amount of training done. Harry has a solid fitness base. If they've been conservative and trained him a lot, so he's re-established that fitness and doesn't need to have his workload managed, he seems to me to be the profile of a player who could come straight back in.I don't think it's as simple as saying "if he's fit, he's fit". That's what I was meaning to express.Comment

Apologies for going OT, but has anyone got tickets for this game? I'm trying to buy a members reserve ticket, but my barcode keeps getting rejected. Is it because I am using a Red 3 membership? Or is it because ticketek don't know how to run a ticketing business?Comment

Does a Red 3 membership allow you into games other than the SCG?Comment
-
No, but I thought it would let me buy a members reserve ticket at the MCG. Maybe that's not how the ticketek site works. Never mind. I'll just buy a general reserve one at the ground.

No ruckman makes sense. After all, Essendon aren't playing one either.Comment

Pretty well every time he came back from an injury he has taken some time to find form again. I'm going back or his whole career and in particular after a couple of ankle injuries incuding a syndesmosis injury a few years back.

Beerman how many are you after? I have 1 AFL Reserve ticket if you want it (As while I have a Premiership Club 11 membership that gives me 1 game at the MCG, the Mrs only has a country 5 that doesn't - and I can't buy a guest pass, so we are sitting in GA instead)."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I’m sorry to just pick on this one comment because there have been a few but I find these types comments quite disrespectful to the medical staff. It is impossible for us as supporters to have the intel. Forget the years of training, education, and experience but consider the amount of gps, strength testing, agility testing, player feedback data that they would have. We have none of that yet are willing to suggest that they are being negligent. The Swans are a process-driven team and I don’t see it any differently with this injury management.
Personally, I’m glad H has come back in. I reckon he will do a job on Saad with the possibility of stints on Merritt.Comment

agree with no ruckman, time to go Horse.
I hope wither Alir or Reid don't get hurt. Will ruin fwd or defences.. Reid is prone to injury. Why did we pick up knoll and not play him when we are short of a ruck, surely he can beat Clark in the ruck if not we should delist him at yrs end.Comment

I'm excited by the inclusion of HC and no pure ruckman. Truth be told, we haven't had a legitimate ruckman for a while. AA and Reid won't be slaughered in this game against Essendon. Heck, you can get injured by trying to jump a chain outside the grounds or by tossing a ball between mate's. They can happen at any time without warning.
What I liked with AA in the ruck last week was his ability to break from the centre square and get inside 50s. I think he has the potential to score after a centre bounce due to his speed and agility (if he backs himself).
Removing Sinkers and injecting HC makes our team quicker. Hopefully, it's what is required this weekend. Good coaching, I say. Let's keep Horse and co. a little longer.Comment
