It certainly is.....but it's added to the players public embarrassment of being guilty of staging I suppose. He shouldn't do it again you'd think.Comment

I was there at that game sitting near the interchange bench. It was a warm day with no rain forecast so the roof was open. After halftime it started raining. The Kangaroos lost the game to Geelong and after the siren he stormed over to the interchange bench and started yelling at the AFL person for keeping the roof open. It was embarrassing.Comment
-
Perhaps the AFL could dial up the public embarrassment? On Grand Final day, after we've had the parade of retiring champions, we could have the shaming of the stagers. Where all those fined for staging, are driven around the MCG on clapped out utes and forced to reenact their notorious performances.Comment

I notice Dawson was the only Swan to make it into the coaches votes. I bet Scott didn't look too closely at the Swans' players. Thought Isaac may have been worth something in place of BlicavsThose who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Dawson's role is interesting too. He is probably our best kick for goal. His marking and long kicking also make him useful in defence. But I wonder whether ultimately his best position is inside mid, particularly as he fills out. He has the potential to be an inside bull, in the way Joey has been.Comment

All of the goals that Heeney kicked in the game were spectacular in execution. I feel that his effectiveness as a midfielder this year has been restricted by that ankle issue he suffered in the pre-season. No doubting his talent. He can outmark far bigger players (He is not that tall!).

Ronke had a good game (compared to previous ones this year) and looks to be close to reclaiming some form (just needs some encouragement).
Every time Ronke made a mistake the commentators were all over him, and blinded to the good things he did (they even missed his smother as they were too busy deriding him).Comment

I agree 100%. The promo before the game was about Geelong and so was the commentary throughout. It was really obvious and not something I usually take much notice of.

My observation of Ronke during this game was that he was trying really hard to provide pressure on the Cats and to create scoring opportunities. He managed to create some excellent opportunities but his lack of composure meant that he wasted several of these. In particular he rushed kicks when he had more time than he thought.
He does not possess the composure that top line small forwards do at this stage in his career. He is still young and learning and has pace so this might come with more experience. The jury is still out. Deserves a game this week though on the last effort.

Ronke is a genuine talent and composure will come with time; what we saw last year is not a flash in the pan. It's important to keep selecting him, he won't get the experience he needs in the NEAFL.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I agree, he's lacking confidence and should play. If he can build that confidence up over the next month it will be a positive to end the year.Comment
