Well that didn't go according to the script. They omitted 2 talls, which certainly helped, then we won the clearances and also hurt them off the rebound. Happy to see my dire prediction of a thumping not eventuating at this stage!

Well, that was more fun than I thought it was going to be. Great work by the talented Mr Papley, to get things started. I've also liked McLean's work. Dawson has also been playing up to his recent very high standard.

I know I will upset a lot of site members here, but, the crowd number is pathetic! How many Sydney members do we have? Where are they? About 6-8 thousand Swans fans there I reckon - more at a Swans game in Melbourne.

Not a bad first half really considering the opposition. I think we have to play McLean, Menzel, Rowbottom for the rest of the year regardless of how they go one week. Menzel in particular will get better with more game time and ultimately might be a 35 goal a year forward.

McLean certainly earning himself another contract, Menzel too you'd reckon coming off no pre-season and we need some experienced depth on the list given retirements this year.

Yes, McLean has been a nice surprise. While he was starting to show something as a key forward in the NEAFL, there wasn't really anything to suggest that he would be able to do a credible job as an AFL ruckman. I also think that Menzel should get another contract. On the other hand, Rose possibly needs to play the best half of football in his life, in order to get another contract.

Yep I agree about Rose - he has not done much in this game. A good finish to year would see him get a contract but otherwise its back to Sturt.

Our midfield isn’t great. Hardly a clearance between them . Those who think we don’t need to try and bolster it in the trade period are kidding. Even with the ruck situation .
