You are joking - no I guess not. I would love to know how many kicks and handballs from Lloyd went straight to the opposition and how many turnovers from him turned into goals.

Sorry, I just had to laugh at your little “discussion”. Now gravedigger, I mean absolutely no offence with this, but lazy spelling (eg players names) and punctuation can irk some on here. In this instance, lazy capitalisation f i ... with autocorrect doing it’s job and changing an i to an I ... changed the whole context of your comment. I actually interpreted it as F L and it didn’t even twig it could have been misconstrued as f I though for consistency, I’d have thought you’d have gone with F I if you were intending to insult F L as such. Glad it was all sorted and curses to Siri and it’s autocorrect! It’s stuffed up many a SMS on me!

If we get one player as good as Connor Rozee from the draft we'll have done very well.

Trouble with tall players is they take a long time to develop. I think we'll be trying to trade in some talls later in the year. Allegedly very few good talls in this year's draft too.

I am mystified by Lloyd getting votes.

GS, you may not have meant offence, but I take offence. I have had a close family member with failing eyesight and when you don’t see well you don’t type well. I don’t think your comment was necessary. I suggest we talk about the football.

For spectators (and I suspect players) the weather was terrible. I’m guessing 3 days of rain soaked the ground. The on-off rain during the game soaked goswannette & myself. Sure, it wasn’t snow and rain is part of footy (unless you have a roof), but not pleasant nonetheless. I doubt it was conducive to clean possession and disposal.

I’m a bit over Port supporters. Terribly one eyed and too often ferally rude (to the opposition players and occasionally opposition supporters - after a 47 point win, crappy comments to red&white wearers leaving the ground was a little unnecessary).

The umpiring was lopsided? I’d have thought we won the free kick count by about 80% the way the Port supporters carried on the whole day.

I’m sure Dane Rampe has thick skin and a good sense of humour, but I wonder how much he gets irritated by the nuffies in the crowd yelling for him to climb the goal post? It sure as heck s#!+s me to tears hearing it all game.

Meg my slight was more on autocorrect than visual impairment, so I apologise if you took offence. I won’t apologise to Siri for stuffing up a plethora of text messages for me with autocorrect (though I guess I could always turn it off) ... which was really the intent of my post.

Although, on reflection, my post actually had nothing to do with you as it was in response to gravedigger, so I’ll just agree about getting back to footy talk.

Was a desperate move given we were getting smashed in centre hit outs and he’d lost composure in defence. From the moment he let that ball hit the deck (thinking it was OOTF), when he could’ve easily marked it, he seemed to lose confidence. Dixon had it over him from then on. I thought it was worth a shot.

Yes, it was very flat. Fire up Horse!

They clearly just check the stats and mail it in.

If you think we were poor, check out the scores of the later 2 games. Puts things a little in to perspective.

At least Lloyd found the footy.

Kennedy has been so poor he has to be injured.

We had the highest score of the 5 losing teams today - if that counts for something!

Hewitt got a pretty good amount of ball but we have to try and shutdown their best player don't we? I guess Clarke could have had a go but might be too short for Boak.

EDIT - I knew I should have checked it! Clarke is supposedly 1cm taller than Boak!
Parker will almost certainly make the AA squad and is a pretty good chance to make the team - he's allowed an off day.

I did have to smirk when the afl.com.au match feed noted half way through the last qr that Port hadn't conceded a free kick since the second qr - I guess that's one way to look at that stat!

Promising game from Blakey today. Played almost entirely on the wing and racked up 20, a career high. His acceleration generally gives him a chance to break free and dispose of it, which he usually does well.

Parker has has a good ( not great ) year but I don’t think he has a snowflakes chance of making the AA side , the squad maybe but the side no way.

I guess the number of kicks count when selecting best players. How Lloyd can be put into the best when most of his kicks lead to turnovers. You should only count effective kicks and dedust ineffective kicks

Most of his kicks? One clanger sticks out. Thought he played ok.

Yes, his disposal efficiency was 73%. I remember a couple of bad kicks. He was in the top group of players and one of few to play close to his usual standard.
