Which implies significant improvement from Knoll!

Not much angst from the Port board on BF about his delisting, in fact it’s hard to find much on there at all about him other than he showed up for preseason this year in poor shape

Thanks for taking the time to share this, it was interesting reading.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Thanks for all the positive feedback gals and guys. Much appreciated. I was just lucky and in the right place at the right time, and happy to share. Actually I could barely contain myself! It is the most concrete info we've had for a while!

The jockey's mouth? It's hard to get much out of Horse.

It's good to see our new recruits already at training.

It was announced that the 2nd year to 5th year players started their pre-season on Monday. Papley was rookie drafted in 2015 and should be regarded as a 5th Year player and turn up this week. Apparently there has not been any "sighting" reported so far. So I wonder if any other members of the class of 2015 have not turned up too. Dawson and Clark were definitely there but what about Mills and O'Riordan?

Papley is doing rehab on his shoulder at the moment according to Horse, so he wouldn't be training with the main squad right now I suspect. I can't post links yet in this forum but it is on SEN at the moment. 3rd last paragraph.

Speaking of injured kids and pre-season, has Matthew Ling been spotted training? I really hope he gets himself right, he's exactly the kind of player we need and his draft year highlights video was bloody brilliant.

I asked Zach Gates (Swans media) the Ling question this morning. He said that Ling was running well at training on Monday. He didn’t run the 2km time trial but was looking nippy running laps and doing run-throughs. If he keeps fit (and everyone is hoping he does) then there enormous upside with what he can bring.

Note - ones to watch this season are - Blakey, Rowbottom and Dawson. They look set to take off.

Side note - the Gates' family are lovely! I taught with Zach's father for a few years down the south coast and had his older brothers in their HSC years. Quality family.

That's great to hear about Lingy, I had heard rumours that apparently he had to have a toe reconstruction. Which must be bloody horrendous.

I'm looking to what those three can do this season, but just the general development of our kids should be something special. I'm hopeful that this is the year that Mills and Heeney both take steps up into the superstar of the comp category. Heeney especially strikes me as the sort of player who could end up a Brownlow contender, while Mills seems a natural fit for the McVeigh/Hodge type defensive quarterback role.

EDIT - Looks like Lingy played the final four games of the NEAFL season so hopefully he carries on from there. I remember that he played a few NEAFL games on limited minutes but didn't realise he played the last four.

It's hard to find a good toe reco specialist in Sydney these days. Good luck Lingy.
