Suspended until May 31: at least a ten week break. I wonder why not a four or five week break, with a review at the end of that period? Have they been told that there's no chance of things improving in that time period?

Just when the long anticipated Plan L is starting to look good, the season comes to an end (for now). I really enjoy these development years, especially with the young group we have.

Our current list just may be the most talented I've seen and will look forward to big things in the coming years if a monkey wrench thrown into the works doesn't go viral (at least not for too long).

Hard to be positive under the circumstances.

The way I read the current restrictions, even I can't return to Australian, although I'm a citizen. Just taking to Mrs L about how we feel about been trapped in Phuket, with a 4 day car ride to get back home to the lovely polluted Chiang Rai. We've go the daily double with Covid and Smoke. Maybe the smoke will kill the virus. It's doing a good job on humans.

        Keep well.

Keep posting: even though we may not have much football related stuff to post about.

On trying to find positives; this might be the first ever undefeated season for the Swans.

Was always juat a matter of time. There are going to be many sad and difficult things happen in the months ahead. This is perhaps the least of them.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

If the season was cancelled completely, would that be good or bad for us compared to other teams?

Would a year off aid or hinder Buddy? What about players probably in their last season like Ablett and Burgoyne, would they go round again in 2021 if that season is on?

What form will the National Draft take given there's likely to be no U18 form to go on? We'll have pick 4. Will the AFL bite the bullet and use the crisis to push the draft age to 19 with this years draft having none of the U18 crop?

            Lots of questions, no answers!

Interestingly, the NRL have announced that they intend to keep playing. Essentially they were saying that, while they understand the AFL's decision, the NRL has a lot less travel, and therefore, they are justified in keeping their season going. I've no idea which code's decision is more correct? They both could be right? They both could be wrong?

I guess they have teams in only 3 states compared to 5 for the AFL. But once QLD or NSW closes their borders they won't have a choice, unless all teams are based in NSW.

The government has banned all non essential activities, NRL is obviously essential! NRL is full of meat heads, this decision is all about money and themselves. Be interesting to see if a government state or feds pulls them into line.

Though they seem to have conveniently forgotten that they have a NZ team, which has now shifted to NSW. Though that might suggest that, yes, Plan C or Plan D is to play all games in NSW.

what a year to develop for our young squad...........minimal games.......max practice and skill evolvement

Hawks who no one rates man handled Brisbane Lions today..........Brisbane who came 2nd last year and Brisbane had double the amount of wins as us in 2019 ie 16 wins vs 8 wins were not only out played, out executed and out coached massively !!!!

time for us to develop and grow and be in alignment with all other work places and that is being respectful to minimising the spread of coronavirus

The Government has not been clear at all on this for some time, and is causing all the panic buying and general angst.

For example, I saw this on reddit:

                          Why not just say that!

Yes, though they might argue that playing games is an essential activity for the survival of the NRL? Some of the NRL talking heads have been suggesting that the competition may fold, if they can't play enough games. I'm not sure if that's likely to happen? But maybe the NRL (and the AFL) will have to have a few rebuilding seasons, where pretty well everybody takes a pay cut and the competition budget is more like Australian soccer or rugby union?

We will not be developing the squad as all training is also suspended until at least May 31. My take is that it will be for all of the rest of 2020.

That will show how serious the issue is and how foolhardy it was of the AFL to even attempt to start a season. Forget the meatheads in Rugby League, they will be ordered to suspend. Unfortunately Australia has collectively dithered for a month when they could have taken action and prevented this crisis from being so severe. Guess that if that had been done and we averted the catastrophe that is coming then some would say it was over reacting.
