I wonder what this means for the fixture?

I wonder how he caught it. Was it from home or was he being naughty and going out? No one at the club has tested positive so it can't be from there.

There was always a risk that a player would test positive. I wonder how it will affect the season...not just for Essendon but also the teams they have to play.

Yeah, if you're going to play that game, best to back it up by playing some football too!

I thought Haynes was very good. One nice spoil running towards an opponent with the ball coming in behind his head, which he effected by raising his arm based on the opponent's reaction rather than by seeing the ball.

Not many other standouts for GWS though.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see whether they have a bye round or give schedule Essendon and Melbourne to play off some shorter breaks so they can catch up.

I will be waiting to see whether they declare how/where McKenna contacted it. I wonder what the penalty will be if he has been stupid/lax.

Worth remembering that it may be a false positive. Not sure what test they use but for a 95% accurate test (strictly speaking 95% sensitivity + specificity), about half of positives are false positives. There are still a few even at 99%.

Of course, they have to assume all positives are real positives when making decisions.

Trust Essendon to stuff things up.

He was tested twice - so I'd assume its probably not. But its a fair point to make.

                      Yeah I did mean 2016.
I guess it now rules out the crowd influence as a reason.

I don't know why GWS tried the rough up. It worked last year because they had a reason. This year seemed fake.

Couldn't they just inject him with some unknown substances to fix him up?

I've heard bleach does the trick.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

High number of ex swan coaches about these days:
                            North: Shaw.
                            Sun's: dew.
                            Crows: nicks.

Two did an apprenticeship under Longmire and I reckon are locks to coach their respective clubs for a decade. Nicks didn't and might be lucky to last the year out.

Not saying there's necessarily a neat correlation, but it's a relevant distinction.
